Downsizing underwear collection - donate or sell
Hi all,
I try to not keep much stuff around and will prune our collections of ten to keep things from getting out of hand.
In trying to find the "perfect pair" of thong underwear, I've had to purge pieces that did not work out.
I've generally donated to Goodwill (our local area has a charity called Saint Vincent DePaul) that collects donations.
Do these people actually sell used underwear? My hope is that it actually goes to a new owner rather than getting tossed? (I donate items with low use and that are super, super clean.
My wife said I should setup a Postmark store for our used sexy underwear/swimwear that just did not quite work out. But I realized I only have about three pair right now that I need to offload, so it's not worth it to list. But, I've gone through quite a few pairs that did not work out due to their fit or weight change on my part.

Good for you in donating to Goodwill! (I think that is a very good organization.) Why not ask a clerk at your local Goodwill if donated underwear is sold, or passed on to specific clothing drives for those in need?
Re: Downsizing underwear collection - donate or sell
My wife has donated bras to a women’s shelter in our town. We did once ask our local Salvation Army if they took donations of clean used underwear and they said they could only take new in the package underwear. When people donate used, even if they could tel it had never been worn they were required to throw them out. This may be local or just to that organization. There is also a men’s homeless shelter, locally, that I was told could take clean used underwear- since they aren’t trying to sell them, but clothe homeless men they were allowed to wash them and redistribute. I have seen several individuals on instagram sell their undies on poshmark or eBay. So it is at least worth looking into.

I think I'll continue to package them up and donate since they are practically new. I just hate spending $40-50, and the items not working out and then donating them out. Hopefully it will make a thrifty thong happy!

What underwear brands/styles didn’t end up working for you? It’s always a bummer when we spend $40-$50 on a thong you’ve been eyeballing for awhile and it doesn’t end up fitting right.OR-Tacoma wrote: Mon Jul 29, 2024 12:01 am I think I'll continue to package them up and donate since they are practically new. Hi!

I also wanted to get rid of this one, The Bikini - Adjustable String. Again, The Cocksox slingshot (underwear and not swimwear) is a muuuchhh better alternative. The thong below is a one size fits all, and it is too gappy. I'm spoiled now, and I can become picky.

I have some old thongs that are just sitting around and I don't know what I should do with them. I tried to sell my old thongs online, but I didn't get any offers. During COVID, I thought about making face masks using my old thongs, but now the pandemic is over.

I pretty much donate mine. I'm not sure how much of it actually gets used...I can only imagine that the Kiniki Newton string bikini a size too small or a thong of some type might evoke some raised eyebrows.

I think donating unwanted microwear to clothing drives for those in need is a very good idea, and here's why: * the men receiving the garments may have enjoyed wearing microwear before / * if they have not experienced it before, they may be surprised at the comfort and support/ * they will be more comfortable in warm or hot climates/ * this will give them "food for thought" (never on the "menu" for whiners or hypocrites) that underwear is a PRIVATE matter and will not be seen by others in everyday situations (hence the shallowness and stupidity of the "Macho Man Manifesto") / *at the worst, the organization may have a system in place to recycle the fabric if it is beyond reasonable use as a garment

Re: Downsizing underwear collection - donate or sell
With my love of underwear, I just can't stand the idea of my 'culled' underwear ending up in the trash. (I mean, I paid good money for some of it. Trash? Yikes!) It would be a lot more fun and comforting knowing a pair is going to a new home.
What I have done in the past is took advantage my underwear board to set up an exchange with people to trade underwear - my new and/or used for their new and/or used. Used is fine with me, personally - I'm not proud. This included pairs that I (or they) ordered that weren't as expected when trying them out And, like most of you I am sure, my used undies are in pretty good shape. Anyway, it was nice to know another under-lover (is that a word?) would be giving my stuff a good home.
Have to say I never tried selling or buying underwear through an underwear board. Whether New or used, I either traded them, or just gave them away. It is always exciting for me when the exchange pairs arrive. My last big underwear culling yielded about 50 pairs I rarely wore. No exchange - I just sent them to a fellow underbuddy. From the board postings I knew loved the skimpier styles like I wear. (Fun side note to this - he had a few underbuddies who lived close to him. He had a try-on party with the buddies, took pictures, and sent me a few pics. Totally fun for me, and them, I am sure. Well worth the postage! )
Minnesota here. To be honest i don't know the rules or laws regarding resale of underwear. Just another option to consider. Sorry for the book here guys.
