Welcome to the forum retro68. Yes, you won't find any talk about boxers, boxer briefs, boardshorts, etc., on this forum, other than to ridicule them and lament that men are shamed into wearing these boring styles. My advice, stick around and read the topics here. Who knows, like microbikiniman said you might try some bikinis and thongs yourself and see the light.
Yep, essentially I landed in the wrong place  I'm British, very conventional and proud of it (wouldn't be seen drad wearing bikinis). I'm a man. But each to their own. Take care everyone, out.
Hmmm, I'm slightly confused, I too am originally British, I'm also Australia, I'm conservative in how I dress, but I have the most amazing collection of G strings, thongs and what I'd call bikinis, they are bikini briefs, but definitely underwear. Personally, I like to wear thongs and bikinis, the smaller the better, I'm not sure why you wouldn't be seen dead in a bikini on a beach, I wore Hom bikini swim briefs in the 80's in Cornwall, it was a common thing back then, obviously not now. Anyway, as you say each to their own.
Comfort mainly. I'm autistic and so don't like / cope with change.

Underwear is irrelevant mainly as people seldom see it.

To that end I was raised naturist and so on our beach we don't wear costume although you see occasional men walking up and down the beach in the regalia you describe and subscribe to.

That's fine, I just find it odd that some textiles frequent a public naturist beach.

When retro68 said he "wouldn't be seen dead wearing bikinis," I wondered if he actually thought we were talking about the female two piece swimsuits rather than string bikini briefs/speedos. I also felt him stating "I'm a man, but each to their own" was implying that those of us who choose to wear skimpier styles are somehow less manly. He was obviously looking for a site to discuss underwear, but how dull would that be if the only thing up for discussion was boxers and dork shorts? I've been in two minds about deleting his post seeing as he's no longer an active member, but by leaving it up I think it will act as a reminder of what we're up against and the bikiniphobia that is out there. Let me know your thoughts on keeping or removing his comments.
It’s a shame he ran away like a child instead of having an actual discussion about it. I too agree it’s a good reminder as to what we are up against with preconceived notions against our skimpier styles we all love. These thoughts are what I would imagine my friends being like if they found out my love for thongs, bikinis and swim briefs. But you guys are helping me realize that I can’t live out of fear, let them dictate my choices, etc. So I do actually love this forum and am a proud thonger!
Child here.

Though, my replies have to be moderated all the time so who knows when you get to read this.

But you might be kinder with your words that were pitted against my saying take care to ine and all.

Bit odd, that.

Don't worry, I most certainly not think that.

Guess I'm just a rolling stone set in rock.

Equally so far as mens underwear is concerned, shorts are outerwear to me, always was when I grew up.

So I "wouldn't be seen dead" as it were in boxer shorts or even boxer briefs.

I already said "each to their own" it's nine of my business what others wear but I do like the line "it ain't what you wear, it's where you're at".

Clothing says a lot materialistically about us and how I was raised taught me that nudity is a great leveller.

Without clothes, there is no pretence.

Thanks for getting back in touch and being so honest about your situation. Some of our responses to your comments may have seemed a bit harsh, but it did seem like you were having a dig at something many of us are passionate about and doesn't make us feel less manly than guys who stick to conservative styles.

As someone who sunbathes nude whenever possible and often doesn't wear more than a g-string around the house, I understand the whole naturist thing, although I bet you get some stick about that.

I hope you find the kind of website that satisfies your desire to discuss underwear and will leave here with no ill feeling.

My apologies - I should have read my response before posting. I have edited and should have been kinder in my response.

It's fine, really. I can be abrupt I know but saying that "I wouldn't be seen dead in" was received in an anti way?

Wasn't meant like that - "straight up" as a Londoner would say.

I only wish well for you all.

Maybe the forum has other topics I could read and contribute to where I am not an authority on bikinis.

Not having a go at all.

On social media apropos naturism, no, not really.

I mean, you'll get the off one or two who just don't get it.

They'll just call you freaks and weirdos which I just find funny.

If it's all you've known from such a young age then, well, you just think textiles are the odd ones.

There just aren't any underwear forums now, there was a cross-dressing one, I can't remember the name of it, but that went.

I'm curious, does this board cater for just things and bikinis or are are men who wear, that's it - menehowearpanties was the name of that forum - are men who do that accepted on here?

I’d leave his comments, I hadn’t even thought of him suggesting bikinis were female only. I use bikinis as a word to describe very low briefs, all of my bikinis are for guys with a proper pouch to hold my bits, I know some guys wear female bikinis, but I don’t have any, I’d never fit into my wife’s and it’s just something that I don’t do.
I personally think it’s a bit odd in this day and age we can’t have a conversation about guys u dies without someone getting upset

Retro68, why did you think it was necessary to say: "I'm a man"?

I personally think he’s mistaken bikini to mean the full women’s bikini top and all.
