Airport Security Mystery Solved?

Airport Security Mystery Solved?

Post by Pennbikini »

Some of you may recall a couple of hilarious (?) instances of me being singled out for extra security screening due to some strange findings on the scanner at security. I think I figured it out -- when I would remove my belt, my jeans would slide down, which meant that the metal button on the front would be lower. Sometimes a fair bit lower, where the scanner would pick it up below the normal belt line (I think those things are configured for different signals in different spots.) But on the last trip, I made sure I had tucked my T-shirt and outer shirt into my jeans so they didn't slide down. And guess what -- no alarms at the scanner, and thus no pat-downs. (And no TSA agent instructing me to keep a firm grip on the side of my jeans, which happened one time when I was wearing a maroon Kiniki Newton string bikini which I think freaked him out!)

Well, to be honest, I thought it was a bit hilarious....until things were slow in the security line and I was trying to move things along a bit. I'll just freely admit that I've always worn clothes that are a bit on the baggy side, and I am somewhat "casual" when dressing (some less charitable folks might say that I am disheveled...) so I didn't even think that this might have been it. But through a number of airports over the past couple of weeks with my new tactic, and no issues. :D

Had an underbuddy who flew in from Germany (US here) to help me through a bad time. He brought a 'ton' of stuff he knew I would love to try on. Bless his heart - he got his bags checked on the way into the US at the airport, and when he got back to Germany, they checked his baggage there, too. Love this guy.... to him it was cool they saw his thongs and bikinis. Best - I got a chance to try them on! Here has some cool stuff.

I think I posted about this elsewhere, but several times I've found the German airport security to be quite...rigorous. Many years ago, when the system was arranged a bit differently than what it is now, I got picked for an extensive search as boarding commenced and there were X-ray machines that you had to go through at the gate. I think this was in Frankfurt, but it might have been Munich...can't remember. Anyway, I was in an early boarding group and I had taken my belt off to go through security, and my jeans slid WAY down. I was wearing a Jockey elance bikini brief (baby blue, if I recall), which is a bit more conservative than my normal ones...but still the jeans had gone way down, to my lower hips, and I was standing with my hands above my head while the cops patted down my torso. There wasn't much point to the waist-and-hips search since everyone --including the 300-odd people boarding a 747-- that I wasn't carrying any dangerous or concealed cargo...
