Pool Time!

Post by ian262 »

So, partly inspired by you all, I went to the local park district pool for a lap swim this weekend and wore a swim brief. It was the first time in a while for me. It was awesome!

I didn't feel self-conscious at all. Kept telling myself, this IS the right thing to wear for what you're doing.

I just love the feel of how fast I can swim without all that material holding me back. It's really the dumbest thing in the world to wear baggy shorts to swim.

I'm also pretty sure I received a serious ogling from a woman who worked there. Because of COVID, you have to reserve a lane online ahead of time, then check in with the lifeguard when you get there. This woman was sitting off to the side with a clipboard but I don't think she was a lifeguard because she was dressed. Anyway, I could see her looking at me in the reflection of the pool area's glass wall while I was checking in. I wasn't sure if she was looking in approval or disapproval at first. But then I could see her kind of crane her neck to follow me as I walked to my lane lol.

Anyway, I had a blast. I swam for about 40 minutes--which was all of lap swim and only got out because it was ending. Definitely going to go again and soon!

Congratulations Ian on wearing your brief! It really feels good doesn't it? You won't ever wish to swim again in anything but a brief now. I'll never forget my first time lap swimming in a speedo. I was so amazed at how efficiently I was able to move through the water. I was almost mad at myself for waiting so long to try it lol! You were right in telling yourself that a swim brief is the right thing to wear. Now you realize how normal and natural it is to swim in a brief. Suddenly all the guys struggling down the lane in baggies look absolutely rediculous. Im sure you gave the lady a nice view too! Glad we inspired you to wear your brief.

I've never had a problem with wearing a swim brief in a pool - I always hated those huge boardies which hold a gallon of water when you swim! I've been trying my luck with g-string swimsuits from Skinzwear, which are superb. Only when it seems it will be OK - my local leisure club is adults only so no need to worry about kids.

Hi. I'm new to the board but very much into skimpy swimwear. I live in the UK where wearing speedo style swimwear has never been a problem. I've been wearing them since secondary school which was quite a few years ago! I try to wear as brief as I dare at my local gym pool, which is normally a Kiniki André swim brief or a Joe Snyder basic bikini.

I had four Kiniki Andre swim briefs in red, black, purple and turquoise, but I gave one to a friend recently. I found some of the colours to be more transparent than others. Have you noticed that with any of yours?

hi-yes. both the turquoise and red have varying degrees of transparency but i wear them anyway. I have recently purchased the white Andre which has ver narrow sides and has double layer fabric to reduce transparency but which makes it quite thick. Nevertheless less a very nice little swim bikini.

Here in the uk swim shorts are the norm but it’s not strange to see a guy in speedo type designs . I too wear kiniki Andre and Snyder bikinis as standard . Always the smallest thing in the pool . I wore the yellow once even but have bought an Eden by kiniki in yellow which is a bit larger but compensated for by its bright yellow ! Certainly conspicuous . Don’t think I’d feel comfortable in anything much smaller on my home patch . Maybe if I was away in a hotel elsewhere I could go down to one of the bikini bulge designs by Snyder which I do t like so much for the prominence but for the minimal strap size . I have one in purple and one in pink which I will wear at euro hotels .

We were out to dinner recently with some friends and got around to talking about swimming, which a female friend said she regularly did and also about what to wear at the pool. i bravely said I wear speedo style briefs, thinking she would baulk at this but she just smiled and said, 'Oh you like speedos; there's a few guys at the pool wear speedos'. She's part of our wild swimming group so looking forward to posing in my speedos for her!

Sounds great! Let us know how things go. If you see some of the other "Speedo Guys" there, tell them about the Forum! (Wow, "wild" swimming sounds like a "Nude Backstroke Marathon!," with the crowd yelling "Up Periscope" for the men's team! 8-) )
