Underwear and Occupations

Post by PeteJackson1 »

What occupation do you think sees the most underwear?

I vote a Mortician or Funeral Director!

You know they have seen all styles, colors, and brands along with trends throughout the decades!

That is going to easily be the dermatologist or radiologist. They are lots of people every day.

Maybe masseur or people who wax, I know the guy who occasionally waxes me waits while I strip off, I think he likes to see what his clients are wearing. I’ve never understood why people leave the room and come back in after you’ve stripped off.

Too morbid to think about it, sorry.

I think the main reason some professional people eg doctors and masseurs close a curtain or leave the room while a patient/client undresses is a courtesy thing and to avoid any accusations of voyeurism. In our personal lives, often when we strip in front of another person it can be the prelude to sexual intimacy and can increase the desire for both parties, which hopefully isn't the case when engaging with your doctor etc.

I too feel this topic could be too morbid for some given the two professions Pete mentions deal with the deceased rather than the living, and we like to see underwear as a vibrant, fun, sexy topic. So if we can leave those worthy and essential professions aside, other areas of the medical profession must surely see their fair share of underwear during the course of their working day, although given the fact our Mothers always told us to wear clean undies everytime we left the house in the unlikely event we got knocked down, hopefully they never see any worn out, moth eaten, grey underpants   . People who work in retail such as tailors and clothes shop assistants must also see a variety of underwear and I'm sure the measuring tapes of kilt hire businesses could tell a tale or two

I’ve had my underwear exposed several times in hospital,
A few times at the chiropractor, and regularly at my company doctor for annual medical.
Normally I wear a thong for everyday underwear.
The one that really commented on my choice of undies was the female chiropractor who said my choice of briefs was perfect as she needed my bum exposed to carry out her work. Boxers would have needed to be removed.
She actually said she couldn’t wear thongs as they were like a wedgie to her.
I explained that she must persevere, then the discomfort will disappear, and she will love them.
Don’t know if she took my advice as I didn’t ask on return visits over several weeks.

That was over 20 years ago. I’m still wearing thongs mostly for everyday underwear.

What a cool response to your thong from your chiropractor, although if you'd been wearing boxers would you really have been expected to remove them in order for her to carry out her work? I can understand the need to get access to your glutes, so maybe pulling them down below your cheeks while keeping your front covered would suffice. I have several family members who have been going to a chiropractor for years and I would bet my house that none of them have wore a thong during treatment.

Hi Tanga Tanga,
Thanks for reaching out.
Ref removing boxers for treatment at chiropractor. I had done some damage whilst lifting a lorry wheel up when it slipped away, and I stupidly tried to stop. This resulted in a strange injury where I couldn't walk without extreme pain. the treatment was around my whole left hip area with ultrasound gel etc. the lady chiropractor kept apologising for getting this stuff on my thong on each visit.
Having thought about what you said, perhaps she was winding me up ref potentially needing to remove boxers if I has worn them .
I forgot to mention that when she needed help with manipulating the hip joint, a guy in his early 20s would come in the room.
I still remember the bewildered look on his face the first time he realised I was wearing a mans thong lol. Back in 1999, you could still buy mens thong underwear in many UK high street department stores. the ones I wore to my sessions would have been a mixture of Debenhams , BHS and some from Littlewoods.

She was absolutely unfazed by my thongs, and I agree with you that her response was very cool indeed.
I recently had to get an inguinal hernia fixed, and at least 6 different people saw my Kiniki Oxford thongs of various colours during the process of assessment to the actual day of the op.
In the recovery room after I woke up, the female Anaesthetic nurse helped me with another female nurse helped me get dressed. between them, they put me into all of my clothes, including my navy blue Kiniki Oxford thong. when she pulled my underwear out of my bag to put it on me, she held it up to work out front to back, I actually saw the slight smile on her face when she realised what she was holding lol. nothing was said though, and she wasn't weirded out. Probably seen it all before tbh.

Yeah I've posted elsewhere in more detail on my back injury and wearing only my underwear when that happened, so a LOT of people in the hospital saw it, and of course, the check-ups that I continue to have, with my regular physical and the spine specialist I still see...I guess I'm used to being in my bikini briefs for a lot of that, when testing my gait, taking measurements like pelvic tilt, etc. But upon greater reflection with seeing these responses in this thread, I've been wearing bikinis and string bikinis since 9th grade, so my family physician(s) over that time would have basically been seeing me in them since I was 13! I don't know that the doctors have ever said anything to me, although sometimes I got a triple take from another staffer. Even recently, when I've gone for the spine stuff -- this was a little bit ago now -- one of the nurses told me to undress to my boxers and I had a Kiniki Kelly tanga on instead...
