I'm desperate to start getting a tan, but here in Melbourne it's still grey days and the next week is forecast to be raining, so today when I got a chance of a little sunshine, I took it and hightailed it down to the beach.
Today is Friday and I got there at 10ish and stripped off to just a fairly small pair of thongs (actually underwear, but you can't see through them)
I was the only one on the beach except for a guy cleaning the beach with a machine, he went past a couple of times them stopped, came over and apologised for make such a noise and also said I didn't have to move or anything. (I actually thought he might have come over to tell me to wear something to cover up)
While we chatted, I didn't try to cover up anything, just tried to be natural, just as he was about to go, he said, "interesting bathers", thats the understatement of the year, I was wearing a micro thong with a cockring, really pushing the boundaries.
This is the first time I've had anyone come up to me and just talk while being almost naked.
Have any of you had this sort of thing happen?

When I go out to the lake near my house to lay in the sun I'm typically either nude or wearing a micro thong, and usually also wearing a cockring either way. Several years ago I was more likely to be nude but now since the area I go to has become more popular its more likely that I'm wearing a micro thong...but occasionally if it's not too busy I'll be nude, at least for a little while. The area I go is a good place to hike so there's a good chance folks will be walking through the area where I'm laying out and oftentimes folks will stop and talk...I get a lot of positive comments on what I'm wearing--some of the guys have said they wish they were brave enough to wear a thong. There's enough regulars (people I see often out there) who like to joke that from a distance they know it's me because of the thongs I wear! And so far, no one has seemed to be offended when I'm laying out nude, either.

I told this story a number of years ago on the main blog so apologies to those who may remember it. I'm going back several years when I used to sit on my front doorstep to continue sunbathing once the sun had disappeared from my back garden. I was wearing a g-string and had my laptop in front of me on a stool. A guy who lived in the flats a stone's throw to the right of my house would often walk his dog along the public footpath that ran along the front and side of my garden. Usually he would stop at the foot of the garden with his dog and pass the time of day, but on this particular occasion he came up my garden path and stood right in front of me. He was wearing sunglasses, so I couldn't see his eyes clearly, but he was definitely checking out what I was wearing. This lead to him chapping my door on another day to ask if he could borrow a thong for a forthcoming holiday in Spain, and I ended up giving him some g-strings to try.

I've had people come up to me at the unofficial nudist zone in Sicily to chat who, unlike me, were not totally naked, but I think the doorstep experience was more unusual due to the setting.

Great experience.I know not everyone is comfortable with one on one chance encounters and might not acknowledge the other person no matter the location(lifts,doctors' waiting rooms, bus stops etc), but I'd like to think that if I found myself in your position or that of the beach cleaner, I would have attempted to strike up a conversation as you both did. I would imagine you were quite chuffed that he commented on your revealing thong, and it's quite possible he'd never seen a guy wearing something that small and was genuinely curious, or was checking you out for other reasons(lol).

I’ve been approached by many people at the beach and the pool while wearing a thong. Most people were simply curious and complementary. I’ve met some of my now friends that way. A while back I had a couple from Britain visiting the area and spot me at the beach as I was wading into the water. They started a conversation with me by complimenting my choice of swimwear and making a joke that she wanted him to wear a thong but he didn’t have the courage to do so. She was quite taken with a man in a thong “swimmer”. We ended up spending the day talking and laughing. Other times I’ve had women engage me and ask to set up near me. I had a man once tell me how great it was that I wore a thong and liked my style as he walked on by. In allif you smile, be friendly and be respectful others will be attracted to you and be equally kind.

I had an experience some years ago at my favorite beach where the other guy and I WERE doing a...little mutual " checking out" (!) I was on Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, enjoying sauntering along the microwear-friendly beach, working on my tan, wearing a teeny string bikini adjusted down as LOOOW as possible. I think he was genuinely curious, he didn't act inappropriately or say anything wrong, I think there was no one else around and he just wanted to check out the brave guys sunning on his own in "unusual" bathers.
