Hello, I think it would be very nice to share and read the stories of other men (like myself) that have converted to thong underwear. My story is a very interesting one. I believe it's important to share our stories to benefit and inspire other men to wear the most comfortable underwear ever created by men for men and worn for hundreds of years (thongs) before women took a liking to them in recent modern society. Let's break the negative stigma that thong underwear is only for women. Thongs are perfect and can be enjoyed by everyone. I personally feel as a man thongs are the equivalent of a sports bra for women lol. Men deserve the best support the best comfort and the best freedom of movement with no bunching, shifting, chaffing, ride ups, adjusting, annoying wedgies etc. We need to break the fear. I believe most men in the world are missing out on comfort for societal stigma and it's wrong! Please let's share our experiences and stories and make thong underwear for men a normal mainstream appreciated piece of underwear not to be feared but loved!

I grew up wearing very basic white briefs made by Hanes and Fruit of the Loom. Most kids probably did. When I was about 8-9 years old my mom bought me some boxers to try. I couldn’t stand wearing them, the lack of support really bothered me and I hated my bits flopping around.
When I was around 15 I was given some hand-me-down Brittania briefs that were my father’s. These were more of a low rise design and had two mesh panels, one on either side of the package. I vividly remember the colors. White, royal blue, aqua, and *gasp* PURPLE. It felt so naughty wearing purple underwear. And there was something really interesting about the design of these. They conformed to and showed off my package in a way that I REALLY liked. I didn’t know underwear could do that, my regular briefs just kinda smashed and held everything tightly. They weren’t comfortable at all.
After this I started trying other underwear styles like bikinis and string bikinis, usually from Target or K-Mart stores. Nothing really drew my attention except for some low rise bikinis from Target that had a bit of a pouch.
When I was 18 I saw that K-Mart sold men’s thongs. I was fully aware of women’s thongs but never even considered that they might be available for men. I finally mustered the courage to buy a pair and truly loved wearing it. I liked the minimal coverage and the feeling of the fabric between my cheeks. I immediately went out and bought more, both Joe Boxer and Fruit of the Loom brand. I wore them frequently but not exclusively, it was almost like I was afraid to switch over completely for some reason. Since I tried on my first thong it has been almost a secret desire to wear them exclusively.
I started looking up men’s thongs on the internet to see what other brands and styles were available and that opened up an entirely new world to me. I bought so many different ones, some great and some truly terrible. I discovered “enhancing” pouch style thongs, G-strings, mesh, silk, you name it! It was and is a lot of fun trying new thongs and still gets me a bit excited if you know what I mean.
I wound up with hundreds of pairs of underwear in all styles and sizes, not just thongs. So recently I went through them all and got rid of the ones that didn’t fit properly, weren’t my style, etc. I also decided that I’d wear thongs exclusively. So I packed up all my other underwear and left out only my thongs and G-strings. And for almost three months I have worn only those and could not be happier.
Thongs fit better, support better, I like the way they show off my package, and I still like the way the fabric feels nestled between my cheeks.

It's sad to think that there are potentially millions of men out there that are trapped in boring, mundane underwear because they are terrified of what their wives, girlfriends, social circle, co-workers, drinking buddies, etc. will say and think of them if they ditch the boring and mundane Y-fronts, boxer shorts and boxer briefs that society says they have to wear. How many men out there see that women get to wear underwear that's daring, fun, sexy and exciting and they're afraid to do the same with non-conventional styles of men's underwear because they be laughed at by their wife or girlfriend or worry that she'll think him less of a man or gay or sissy?

I totally agree. So I was still in elementary school when Kmart was reaching its end with Joe Boxer thongs, but they were my first exposure to different types of men's underwear besides my white briefs and my dad's plaid boxers. Throughout school, I changed with the trends to boxers then to boxer briefs. I stuck with boxer briefs for a while through college and a bit beyond. After a while, though, I felt old enough that I could wear briefs without peer pressure. I still like good Calvin Klein hip briefs, but I started to want even less coverage. I found decent bikini briefs with a low rise and a good European back, but I still wanted to push a bit. I remembered thongs and felt a bit unsure because I didn't know how people might receive it if they knew, especially a special lady friend. However, I finally decided at age 30 to go for it. I bought a couple black modal thongs, and I was instantly hooked. Still haven't tested them with a woman or in the locker room, so we'll see how that goes.

If I told this story before, forgive me.
My first exposure to thongs and wearing a thong started in 1985. I was staying an entire summer in Japan and had to go to school even on Saturday's, that's some BS. Anyways, there was a swim class and I didn't have a suit. So they had a box of suits, I was picking through, but I noticed a couple guys wrapping a long cloth around them when finished looked just like a thong. So I asked what is that? My friends told me it's a fundoshi. I said I wanna wear that. My buddy grinned and they showed me how to put it on. Mind you this was all in Japanese too. Well the girls snickered at the pool, but as soon as I jumped in and started swimming I felt free. The giggling stopped when they saw how strong a swimmer I am. I been on swim teams since I was 6 years old. Though not the fastest I can hold my own for a big guy. The feel of the fundoshi swimming just felt good. I had my grandmother make me a fundoshi and I was hooked.
Fast forward to the 90s and in a fitness magazine I saw thong underwear from men from International Male. I ordered my first ever cotton thong. I was excited as hell because I had never worn an actual thong before, just that fundoshi I talked about. First time I put it on, I'll admit I got a chub. It just felt so awesome. So of course I ordered more. A few years later I saw the thongs at K-Mart for men, Joe Boxer brand, which was funny since I was buying a thong. I bought a ton of those undies and still ordered from International Male. Sadly both of those companies and brands are gone with that style.
Keeping this part less descriptive I never had a problem with a lady when we got into it. They loved it and joined me with the same style.
My favorite underwear now is JM out of my friends up in the Great White North/Canada. I have both fabrics the natura which is more cotton blend and skinz which is spandex. I wear the skins to the beach or workouts and natura for everyday underwear. Keep thonging gents.

I've owned thongs and wore them periodically through the years - briefs when I was younger but mostly boxer briefs as the years went on. My true switch came during covid - I don't really know what rekindled the flame, I just wanted to start wearing them more often. Today I am 99% thong, I have a ton of bikini and string bikini underwear and they still fit and feel so good that sometimes I like to mix it up and of course I do have some boxer briefs if they are the more appropriate garment to wear.

my first contact with men thongs was back to 1995 through a teenagers magazine..i have wrote about it ...i bought my first thong few years later..2000..since then i had some thongs which i wore sporadically, as my first choice back then was commando...so it was either no underwear at all or thongs or tiny bikinis..i met my then gf and next wife in 2007, december i think. and she liked my thongs..she preferred them more than going commando and she hated my bikinis..so i started wearing my thongs more often, she bought me a few more but again was not y everyday choice..i still going commando the most days..
summer of 2008 we went for the first time holidays together..just 4 days to a nearby island..nothing special.. i was working a lot and she prepared our suitcases...as you can understand she packed only thongs for me and her..
i came home from work, quick shower-she gave me a thong- get ready and off to the boat..that evening i realised that she had packed only thongs for me...not big deal..so i wore exclusively thongs for the next days,for the first time..
after our return i liked thongs even more, i was sure that she like them on me and i started wearing thongs more days per week..but thats it..
the real switch took place 1 month later...
we visited her parents. our plan was to stay for 3 days..as the previous time she prepared the switcase and she packed only thongs..ok no problem..
during our visit, plans changed, because her mother insisted to stay 3 days more in order to meet her cousin who was coming for summer holidays from usa.
as you can understand i run out of clean underwear. for Andy( my gf) this was not the case as she takes many many clothes with her and even more underwear. but for me she took only the necessary amount of underwear and clothes-maybe because i hate big suitcases and it was strict instruction from me to take the smallest one-.
as i change my underwear daily and especially during summer twice per day, keeping my thongs on for more days was not a option and also wash them was not a option,as we were not open to her parents for my thonging.
so i suggested her to buy some boxer briefs or briefs from the local underwear store...thongs were not a option in the small village we were...
she denied..she said that for me and her thongs are the only choice...she offered me some ck and some other big thongs of hers to choose from.
i pick up the biggest at the front and the most "manly" ones in solid colors like navy blue, red, black...and i wore them for the next days...
it was the first and last time in my life wearing female thongs...
after that for me was obvious was she REALLY LIKE on me..and since 1) she didnt like me going commando 2) i wanted to make her happy 3) i liked thongs in first place...i started wearing them exclusively since then.

Dam you a lucky man, so jealous. Don't do anything stupid like marrying her, that will put an end to it. Ask me how I know

thank you urdaddy..well i married her next year 2009...we stayed together for almost 10 years..our " agreement" was to have fun and no kids..around 2018 she started saying that she want to become a mom...back then i was thinking that having kids - and try to be a good father- is a very heavy responsibility for me..a heavy duty which i wasnt sure if i can afford ..few months later we divorsed...she was in panic,she found and married the first guy she met.
allow me to give you some further information ..its history now...the new guy abandom her , the day she told him she was pregmant..she called me and she was like..i will do abortion...i denied strongly..i promised her that i will be next to her and her baby for the years to come...anyway..she has a beautifull and smart daughter ..she gave my name to her and we have a great relationship but we are have our lives separetly..
i was alone some years with some tries to find a gf now and then...2 years ago i met my current gf and i am a happy man...
she is younger than me...and due to her parents she began to ask me if we are going to get married, have kids and family...
( in Greece its not socially acceptable be with a woman for long time and not married her or , at least, get engaged and give to her parents exact date of the marriage)
to be honest i have reconsider my thoughts about kids and family and i am thinking seriously to do the step...the " pressure" from my thonger friend Carlos ( his son is one years old),ex wife, my family is huge but in a positive way...will see...
