thongs and hygiene

Post by edbear »

Hi guys, Im new here. Ive been visiting the webpage and forums for quite a while but, just decided to create an account.

Heads up: I hope this topic doesn’t offend anyone :? but there’s barely any information out there about it :| .

Just to give you some context: normally I wear bikinis and string bikinis but I also enjoy wearing thongs unfortunately I don’t wear them as much as I would want to… Anyway… I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and going to the restroom is pretty much a gamble, some days its ok, but others I end up visiting the restroom 3 or 4 times a day which makes the situation of wearing a thong quite a tricky one and yes I use wipes and all but its still a bit uncomfortable to me, which kinda makes me avoid wearing thongs during the day at all and just wearing them to sleep.

So…for some of you guys that wear thongs 24/7 does this represent an issue? How do you manage the topic of wearing them and keeping all clean? Do you care at all?

I would love to read you inputs about this topic, and I know it might sound stupid for regular folks but for us with issues like IBS is a pain in the ass :( .

Greetings.

I do not have IBS but do have a very mild lactose intolerance, and a bidet will be your best friend!!! you can buy a $27 on amazon. its very easy to install too!!

a Bidet prevents any fecal residue that is common in general after defecating. I also think in general I just feel cleaner, its the cleanest my butt, whole and balls have been ever in my opinion. I wear white briefs and also freeball, so I feel better and am extra clean (physically and psychologically) after using a Bidet from a bm and is overall helpful in keeping whites clean and also pants/shorts clean if I am without undies for the day.

if you want a link to the one I bought I can provide that! pm me if you would like!

Good Luck

Hi edbear! Welcome to the forum! Nothing wrong with this topic. Yeah, as a regular thong wearer and an avid swimmer who's in a pool several times a week, I'm meticulous about anal hygiene and cleanliness in general. It's very important to me. I wash my anal area thoroughly in the shower with soap and warm water daily, usually at night. Bowel movements are a fact of life we all deal with. After a bowel movement I clean with wet wipes or a small moistened paper towel and regular TP. Also I keep my pubic and anal area smooth and hair free. This helps with cleaning. I hope this isn't TMI.

I think the bidet is a great idea, but if you're at work or out during the day away from home it doesn't help much. Some thoughts; can you start the day wearing a thong but take a spare bikini with you to change into in a bathroom if you're having IBS problems? Keeping hair free down there as I mentioned is good if you don't already do that.

I don't like white underwear, especially white thongs, for this reason. They are too prone to getting stained.

Welcome to the forum. Many years ago I had a friend who suffered from Ulcerative Colitis which meant he had to be aware of where the toilets were whenever he was away from his house. I believe he got a letter from his doctor which explained his condition and which he carried with him so that he could gain quick access to toilets in petrol stations, shops etc without having to waste time explaining himself.Seeing how debilitating it was for him really opened my eyes to that condition and others with similar symptoms.
I'm sure most of the guys on the forum are fortunate not to suffer from IBS, but will have had occasions where wearing a thong or g-string was deemed too risky due to the effects of food poisoning, medication and such like. If you type in thong irritation on the main blog you will see comments from members on how they cope with some of the issues you've highlighted in your post. Good luck.

Thank you so much for all your tips, and specially for being so open and comprehensive. Im not gonna lie, for some reason its easier to talk with my peers about my bathroom habits than wearing thongs... so finding this forum has been amazing. A bidet is def a great idea for my house and private practice, and carrying around another pair of underwear might not be such a bad idea either.

Thanks guys!

Consider also that most of the thong and g-string manufacturers recommend hand-washing of these garments due to the fragile nature of them compared to the briefs and string bikinis. Hand-washing would also be a fair way of keeping any contaminated clothing away from the other clothes being washed together.

I´m not sure what the topic means (foreign language). I use a piece of toilet paper rolled between the buttocks. It is inconspicuous and easy to change after every toilet visit. Doesn't stain my thong. I always wash thongs with unscented hand soap.

Hello and welcome.

Definitely wearing a thong is a high maintenance item, and more if you have that condition, sorry about that...

I don't really know what kind of problem you have when you have to go to the bathroom and how many times, but one of my tricks is know what kind food I had a day before, your poop talks to you, and when the consuming of fat is high, the poop could be sticky and smelly, and when the consuming is from a balance and healthy meal you poop could me firm and solid, a regular poop. So I am assuming that at this point all of us (independently of the having a condition or not) know what type of food triggers some behave in your bowels.

So, When I have to go to the bathroom (I always wear thong) I clean with TP and with wipes. I may not feel very confident about if but I just don't put all the string all the way up, I way some minutes and go back to the bathroom, I clean myself again and if my thong gets dirty, I just clean it with another wipe and that will help me to feel more confortable during the day.

But again... thongs are an underwear that make feel sexy, confident and unique, but I am aware that they are a very high maintenance clothes and regardless your condition it always request extra work.

So, enjoy it wearing thong every day if you want just work extra to keep it clean and if it isn't clean all the time, well, use the wipes to clean a little bit more and carry on you a extra pair of underwear.

good luck

The construction of the thong is to have a back strap, which find his way between the cheeks and rest himself on the " exit".
Jokely i made my above description in order to say that is normal the back strap be a little smely or be a little dirty at the end of the day, after hours wearing it.
Even if you tried your best to keep it clean after your visit to the bathroom.
As crossfit said already, all the thonger do know that thong is a demamding clothing and has its disavantages.
Me, when i see the back strap " dirty " after a long day, i feel sexy, because i " see" where this sexy back strap was the whole day and what part of my body was touching and rubbing allll day !!!

I too use wipes after a bowel movement. This keeps the thong strap relatively clean but not stain free. It is more noticeable on white thongs. Overall, it's a pair of underwear and underwear gets dirty.
