First time thonging at the beach

Are any of you frequent thong swimsuit wearers? What're some of your stories or experiences?

Although I've been thonging full time for a few years now I've only recently started wearing them to the beach. My first time was nerve wracking to say the least. I had been wearing swim briefs now and then for a while but never had the courage to break out the thong swimsuit until just this year. I wish I would have started long ago. I think it was the help of others in my circle that helped me be more confident in my body, and just realize that I shouldn't care what other people think. Also them wearing cheeky swimwear helped as well. It's alot easier to go at it with some friends. I was tired of putting too much energy into guessing what other people are thinking about me. So the next time I went to the beach with my friends I said screw it and only packed the thong swimsuit. (Bright pink, purple and green printed Jor) It was fantastic. I looked great, and felt great. Mind you I'm in decent shape and have been making an effort to feel comfortable in my body. That's besides the point, if you feel confident enough, regardless of how you look go for it. I got a few photos, lots of smirks, and a couple compliments. There are many people who want to be able to just go out and rock whatever outfit or swimsuit they want, but are too afraid to do so. Why dont we help them out and show them that there's nothing to it you just have to own it. The day was beautiful, the sun brought me nice tan lines that I haven't had before, the water felt amazing on my skin, plenty of people who passed by got a good view. It was a great trip.

Congratulations on getting out there and enjoying your thong at the beach! It is such an awesome experience to do that! I, too, love the feeling of the sand, sun, and wind on my bare backside at the beach.

I don't really have any stories to tell about it, other than to tell anyone who is remotely interested in thonging at the beach to just do it. Quit worrying about the other people, you do you. Slip that thong on and go enjoy yourself! No one cares, seriously. There is an occasional Karen, but you shouldn't live your life in fear of upsetting Karen. She will always find something to be upset about, so why not your choice of swimwear.

Congrats thonger on making the big leap! Glad you have friends that are supportive of you wearing thongs. Just curious were people taking random photos of you without your permission or did they ask first? What area are you in?

My first time in a thong at the beach was a bit intimidating. It didn't take long to get over thinking everyone was watching. Got completely comfortable really quick.

Although I had worn a bikini style brief on beaches most of my younger (up to age 23) life, the first time I wore a thong was a bit nerve wracking for me. I wasn’t sure of how the response would be and if I was going to get hassled or threatened. At that time I had my share of mostly young men and mothers with children give me grief over my choice of a bikini brief. Before ever hitting the sand wearing a thong I had spent weeks tanning in my enclosed yard trying to find the courage to go to the beach in just a thong. I remember the day I finally decided this would be the day. I got to the beach early and found a spot in the sand where nobody else was near by. It was a bright beautiful clear sky day and soon the beach was filling up with people. I noted a few unhappy looks my way but for the most part I was left alone. I didn’t want to be up moving much as the beach became more crowded. I was trying to lay low and not make waves. That was all well and good until a group of young women set up near by. They were obviously a bachelorette party with the bride to be wearing a vail and others talking up the future wedding. Needless to say it didn’t take long for them to notice me. I was sitting in my beach chair and I know they thought I was wearing a small bikini brief. A couple of the young women came over and started talking with me. The others had music going and were dancing in the sand. I was told they wanted me to dance with them, take a few photos and help send their friend off to the old married life. I was more than hesitant until one woman took my hand and pulled me to my feet. That’s when the excitement really began for the women. They instantly noted my bare buns and made sure I knew how great it was and how sexy I looked in “that thong”. I got surrounded by the group and ended up taking a series of pictures with them. Talk about a confidence booster! This was amazing.I left the beach that day feeling great.
Unfortunately the next time I wore a thong at the beach I had a rather poor experience. It took many failed attempts to thong with confidence on a beach before I found my full confidence and comfort to do so with ease. Now the only swim wear I own are thongs but for the few bikini style brief I have to use for swimming laps at my gym’s pool (rule, no thong).

GuitarT, I would like to offer you a warm welcome to the Forum! Your story is great: congratulations on your breakthrough! My own choice is a men's rio-style microbikini, and I've got a little number ready for my next visit to Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. You took positive steps to feel ready, and proud, for your visit to the beach. Getting a nice tan to be ready was definitely the right choice! Sounds like a beach where microwear is not considered to be excessively revealing. If women in thongs are welcome there, nothing like "bustin' down" double standards in your own choice of swimwear! Here's a positive affirmation I focus on regularly in my own life: "Nobody can make you feel bad about yourself...without your help." And something I remember about one of my teachers. She had a pair of pierced earrings which she wore often. One said "In." The other said "Out." That should be the fate of any derogatory comments you may overhear...comments made by others who are secretly envious, or who are upset due to their own issues of body-image abuse at the hands of others. Keep doing what brings YOU pleasure!

I first wore a true thong to the beach about twenty years ago and it is the nervous thrill which is the pleasure for me . I went swimming on a nice remote beach in Northumberland and wore a red kiniki Lloyd . There were very few people there , the odd Walker . I went swimming and then it was time to come out but there were two attractive women walkers had sat down in a washed up log at my exit point . As I walked towards them they waved smiled and said hello . That was a great moment and the slow walk with my back to them to retrieve my clothes ! A good start to beach thonging . Since then many nice experiences . Never negatives .

My first time involved a friend of mine who was also into thongs.

We had been writing back and forth as underwear buddies, and got into our swimwear, I guess, fantasies. This involved thonging on both of our bucket list items. His wife was not into thongs, or beaches for that matter. So we made it happen, together.

We both traveled quite a distance to meet in Florida. We had both done our homework as far as where to thong. It was a beach in Fort DeSoto, Florida. One end of the beach was strictly family friendly with the board shorts and all. The other end (on the other side) and a couple sand dunes away was skimpy/bikini/ thong swimwear folks. It was outstanding striking up conversations with other folks with similar likes. Some of them were absolute gods in their swimwear - my buddy included (hung like a horse). Even though it was the first time, I was in heaven and felt 100% at home with others around.

I've only been a couple times since, but that really paved the way for comfort with my body in a thong. Looking forward to trying it again.

One thing I don't want to lose when thonging on the beach is that slight element of nervousness which I enjoy . When it becomes just 100 pc normal then I think it would be quite dull . So although it is good to appear really confident I would not like to lose all the excitement . It is quite a thrill to set up on the beach and to walk or jog and distance oneself from one's clothes . Knowing that you have got to make it back to them no matter how the beach population changes or who appears !
