Brands similar to Prevail Sport
Hey guys. Im new (31m) here and I've always had a thing for thongs/bikinis etc. ,except that I just recently got into actually wearing them, as I live on my own now. As a kid in the mid 90s, I have been obsessed whenever I saw guys on tv wearing speedos, or bikinis. The style that they wore was a great one. I never thought I could get my hands on a pair (because its an old style now), until I discovered Prevail Sport in 2018. I bought myself about 3 pairs and they were what I always wanted; That 80s/90s style bikini. Not gonna lie, I look really hot in them. Unfortunately, I never made the steps to buy myself some more pairs from Prevail Sport, and now they are closed permanently. I have tried searching everywhere for similar styles and no luck. Does anybody have any good websites?
The style of today is okay, but its not my favorite. The fabric, the quality, the design is just boring to me. Prevail Sports had it all and I lost my chance to own many pairs of what I always dreamed to wear everyday. Hope you guys can help me out!

Welcome to the forum, Tony. I'm sure many of us can relate to your frustrating experience of finding your dream underwear, only for the company to go bust or the favoured undies be discontinued. That was my reaction when Kiniki stopped making their original Gigolo G-strings, and also when Gregg Homme discontinued their amazing Commando G-strings, which I loved.tony_sucks wrote: Tue Oct 12, 2021 12:40 am Hey guys. If you are based in the US, I would give Mensuas a look. They had a good selection of the styles you seek and I personally loved their wide range of Daniel Alexander strings and bikinis. The only reason I stopped buying from them was because of the import taxes and high delivery charges to the UK. That wouldn't be an issue for you if you live in the US. Although Kiniki have reduced their range somewhat, they are still worth checking out due to their regular sales, and you may have noticed that Nate reviewed one of their bikinis on the main TBD blog this week.
Let us know if you find something that works for you.

Welcome Tony from a 37 year old who also grew up in the 90s and similarly was surrounded by that style of speedo/swim bikini that was worn so confidently by men. It's galling that the style is no longer common. I often look through the catalogs of Pevail Sport, Kiniki, International Male and can't believe the array of bikinis/thongs in such amazing cuts and designs.
In terms of cut, I find the Joe Snyder classic bikini/thong is pretty good. Kiniki is good too as is HOM. The latter 2 are European brands though.
Are you looking for underwear or swimwear?

Welcome. What were the styles you got from Prevail Sport? That may help give us an idea for a recommendation. I haven't found anything that I consider an equivalent to them especially at their prices. Like mentioned above Skinzwear has a variety of styles that are kind of similar to Prevail, but more expensive. They sell them as swimwear, but most of them are unlined. Many wear them as underwear. The Harry bikini brief from Kiniki I just reviewed is a possible option if you liked Prevail Sports French Secret or String Brief. The back coverage is kind of between those two styles. It's only available in a mostly cotton blend and solid colors though. Those are some suggestions that come to mind.

Muscle skins has a variety and allows you to customize pattern/cut of their garments. I believe also sold as a swimsuit but un-lined would be good for underwear. I have not tried this brand yet, but it is on my wish list of brands to buy. However several that I follow on IG love them.

Whats up everyone. Just wanted to thank all of you for the replies. I should have said that my favorite underwear from Prevail sport were Atlas Brief, French Secret, Cotton PowerLifter Brief, String Brief and the Cotton String Brief. Those were the ones that give my body a good looking shape. The underwear just blends well with my skin and makes me look really good.
I'm looking mostly for underwear, as swimwear is a lot heavier and I cant necessarily wear that everyday (but i still like bikini swimwear).
I recently bought a custom bikini from Skinzwear. Its great stuff, and they do have cuts that Prevail Sport had. But like tbdrawer said, its more on the expensive side. They also only do swimwear which is unfortunate. I will be purchasing from them again, but not in bulk like I would like.
MuscleSkins.com definitely has the styles I've been looking for; however, Its Swimwear only, but I'll take it for now.

Hey Tony, cool to read your posts about how you got into wearing bikinis...I can relate alot to you and the styles you like (prevailsport). Deejay.com.au has a style that is close to prevailsports string brief....its the 'cotton poser'. Unfortunately not the cheapest for shipping as its from Australia. I found some awesome bikini cut (high cut bodybuilder style) on ebay called 'swirlfashion'. Buffedbod.com has custom underwear/swimwear. Deejay.com.au seems to have a site almost exactly like it ...hunkwear.com.
