Hello,
I see my forum login issue is working, I had asked for help, thanks if an admin fixed my issue.
I have to say that I don't speak English very well and I use the automatic translator, rechecking each time going back to the source language.
I was born in 1952 and I live in the countryside in the south of France, there is a river where one can bathe at the edge of my village, I also have the sea and the lake of Salagou at about an hour's drive.
I have always loved wearing bikinis or thongs, underwear or swimsuits, which is why I am writing here! (if you have questions...)

bonjour Jordan, je m'appelle David bienvenu (and that wraps up my high school French). The group has discussed the ease or lack there of purchasing bikini and thong underwear in local shops. France is seen as fashion forward, do you find buying such items locally is easier or do you rely on online shopping? You mentioned countryside so perhaps you may have to travel to a larger city for such purchases. Again welcome to the group

If I opened this topic it is to talk about my experience with the underwear and swimsuits that I have worn since adolescence and the thoughts I have about my attraction to different forms: bikinis, thongs and cheeky.
I should therefore address the problem of their purchase in due time but in first I can tell you that we do not find much in shops and department stores except perhaps in large cities far from home (Lyon, Paris ). The days when they were found everywhere are long gone, alas, for more than 20 years!
I do all of my shopping online.
On the other hand, I find it easier to wear narrow swimsuits or thongs on the beaches of Meéditerranée, the river near my home or Lake Salagou. And for a year, I have a small swimming pool!

I joined last year and have enjoyed reading the posts as well as contributing my own thoughts and experiences. We are about the same age (I was born in 1951). I have also been interested in bikinis (both underwear and swimwear) since adolescence, and began wearing string-bikini underwear and smaller Speedos in the 1970's (at the same time I started bodybuilding). As the bodybuilding and tanning have progressed, the bikini swimsuits have progressively gotten smaller! I now have the M73 Rio from Skinzwear and LOVE it. You invited questions, so here goes. Are string bikinis or thongs very common on the men you see at the Mediterranean beaches? How about the French Riviera or public swimming pools? Does French culture consider the wearing of a bikini or thong as a natural expression of sensuality and sexuality for both men and women? Do both straight and gay men enjoy wearing them? What do your friends and family think or your suits? When you are at a public beach or pool where they are welcomed, does wearing them increase your own sensual and sexual self-confidence? We have a bit of the same route but I'm not a fan of too minimalist briefs. I will tell my story on this topic when I have the time.
I will try to answer all your questions. No, I don't see many men in thongs and bikinis on the beaches anymore, there were many more 20 years ago. It must also be said that I go to the beaches where there are few people and I do not go there very often. I never go to a public swimming pool. I would add that in recent years, women have had swimsuits that show more and more the buttocks, not Brazil yet, but it will come. On all the beaches in France showing the buttocks or the breast is not prohibited except in municipal places like Paris-Plage ... So I hope that men will do it too ... Yes, for both sexes, wear a small bikini or a thong has a rather strong sensual connotation. Many think that men who wear a thong are all gay, but that's homophobic nonsense. Hi Jordan and welcome to the forums and my blog. You are correct that there are more American's that visit the forums. There are regulars from the UK, Uruguay, Canada, Australia, Spain, South Africa and probably some other countries. Those are just the ones that come to mind at the moment. So the majority of the users do speak English. But like you said it is nice we can use Google Translate to share our stories in other languages.

Yes I thought you were British and the blog started in the UK. It's great if there are participants from all over the world. I like everyone and I like to know from which country the people who talk to each other are.

Yes, I'm Nate who runs the blog and forums. Tanga Tanga (goes by T on the blog) who helps with moderation of the forums is from the UK more specifically Scotland. Yes, you are allowed to link to pictures. This forum post lists where a lot of the users are from.

Hello Jordan. May I extend a welcome to the forum from Scotland and hope you enjoy your time working your way through the blog and this forum. My only French connection(sorry, bad pun), is that I passed my French O' level back before the wheel was invented, and my first ever swim thong was by the French company Hom, who, according to their website, no longer sell swim thongs. I believe the French are much more relaxed and positive about men wearing speedo type suits than they are on this side of The English Channel, so it made me laugh when I read that some municipal swimming pools in France insist that men have to wear speedos rather than their preferred board shorts. I believe the main reason is to do with hygiene, seeing as board shorts are more likely to be worn as day wear and therefore tend to pick up more dirt. Would love to see the faces of some conservatively attired Englishmen being told they have to bare their pasty, pale skinned bodies in a speedo if they wish to enter the pool(lol).

I too had bought a Hom swim thong in a department store in the 1990s (it was not the first swim thong I bought). When I chose it, I noticed that the young man who was in charge of the swimwear and men's briefs sector looked at me very mockingly ... A homophobic attitude I think.
