Were you nervous or scared

For those of us who grew up in an area where bikinis and colored briefs were in the vast majority were you nervous or scared wearing them on gym days thinking you may get teased?? I was nervous with both. I got a compliment on the bikini briefs and no one said anything about the colored briefs

Only in high school, where the majority of boys wore boxer shorts, or huge, baggy Y-fronts. I don't even think boxer briefs were a thing back then- this was 40 years ago! Once, one of the other boys was talking to me as I changed clothes by my locker. When I pulled off my gym shorts, revealing my red & black striped low rise briefs, he blurted out, "OMG, you're wearing bikini underwear!" Most of the other boys were at the far end of the locker room, so nobody heard him. I was lucky, that could have gotten ugly real quick!

I had been under the impression that all the high school kids would be wearing bikini briefs (this was in the late 80s). So imagine my surprise when I took off my pants in the locker room for the first time, revealing my BRIGHT RED Fruit of the Loom string bikinis and being pretty close to the ONLY one. I had just started high school, so would have been 13, and definitely low man on the hierarchy. No one said anything (then) altho the kid next to me on the bench was staring. There was no going back, either, as I had been insistent with my mom when she was buying things for back to school that these were what I wanted, and she was equally insistent that she wasn't buying any more, so they were going to be with me for the school year. I think we had gym 3X per week, and so while I was nervous, especially the next time, I got used to it. Eventually I did see a couple of others that were wearing bikinis/low-rise as well. Then by the time I was a sophomore, it was what it was!

I was nervous asking my mom to buy string bikinis, but she did. I was nervous what my dad would say, but he said nothing. My brother was away at college so I don't think he ever knew. I did make sure that on gym days I wore boxers for fear of the guys in class. 95% wore boxers and only a few wore briefs, plain white Hanes, FTL, ETC. I loved the days I wore my animal print string bikinis.

I remember be so nervous, when my mom asked what underwear I wanted when we were clothes shopping that I froze. I so wanted to try some bikinis , but chose tightly whities instead. It wasn't until I move out that I was able to get some. I definitely waited too soon.
