We are half way thru our beach vacation and I couldn’t wait to post. Arrived Sunday and unpacked, headed to the beach on Monday. In my usual swim brief under my swim shorts. Around 4 the family headed back to the room. The beach was semi empty and I said to myself it is now or never. I slipped off my swim shorts and sat in my chair in just a swim brief. It felt amazing to have the breeze on my thighs. I was nervous and didn’t last more than 20 minutes but it was a start. Tuesday rolled around, slipped on a Todd Sanfield swim brief under my shorts. I told my wife I should just wear these, she said yeah but you won’t. We headed down to the beach. After 20 minutes, I said do it - I slipped off the shorts and sat there in my briefs. I was very nervous and my wife smiled and said I can’t believe it, you who won’t even take a shirt off. Stayed in just the briefs for over 2 hours. Even sat in the sand with my kids playing. No one said anything. I did eventually put the shorts back on to walk the beach. Both kids asked why is daddy in his underwear, my wife and I both explained they are called a swim brief or speedo. My son asked if other guys wear them I said not around here unfortunately. Rolling into Wednesday the beach was a little busier, I couldn’t do it. Then finally after an hour I said go for it. And slipped the shorts off and sat in a chair next to the ocean with my wife in just my swim briefs. In fact, even as I write this I am sitting in my Sluggers swim brief, in a chair under my umbrella on the beach. Feeling the cool breeze across my thighs. I love this feeling. We are expecting some rain the next two days so I don’t know how much beach time I’ll get. But fingers crossed i’ll be in a swim brief again.

That's is awesome David! I am sure it was super liberating. I still haven't worn my swim briefs by themselves yet. Not to many opportunities this year, though I am heading to lake Michigan next week and I will have to pack my ts micro and low tide swim briefs . Hope I can be brave enough to drop the board shorts and just wear the briefs.

Good for you, David! I'm so proud of you! Board shorts are a pain, but good for a cover-up to and from the beach I suppose. Keep rocking them on the beach...eventually it becomes second nature and a given that you will!

You're opening a whole new world. Most people don't care or won't say anything. Enjoy your time at the beach.

David, that is a wonderful beginning to a more secure self image. You may find the more you wear swim briefs/Speedos/bikini style swimwear the less other people care. I encourage you to continue to wear what pleases you.

I’m currently sitting on a Lake Michigan beach wearing a swim thong. No one seems to care. There isn’t another man in sight wearing anything other than board shorts. There are a few women with cheeky bikinis, no true thongs.
