South Padre Island, Isla Blanca Park

If you are looking for a place to thong in Texas, I can confirm that South Padre Island, and Isla Blanca Park (at the south end of SPI) are absolutely thong friendly!

I was there this weekend with my wife and wore nothing but a thong from the parking lot to our beach spot and everywhere in between. I even entered the pavilion and the small shop there where I could rent an umbrella in nothing but a thong and no one said anything negative to me.

There was a moment when I did get nervous, I was on my stomach sunning my ass when the local beach patrol pulled up in their marked truck. They stopped right behind me (no pun intended). I was sure they were going to ask me to put on a different suit. My wife was sure of it, too. The truth is, who knows why they stopped... they didn't say a word to me at all.

I also took the time to walk about a mile stretch of the beach in my thong. Early in the day, I noticed one or two thongs on a few women but I was the only man in a thong... not even other men in speedos or square cuts. All the men, except for me, wore the shorter trunks that are becoming more popular or the standard board shorts. Honestly, If I had the body of those young bucks, I would have started thonging long time ago. LOL

By the end of my beach day, when I walked to the jetties again, I noticed a lot more thongs on many more women of all sizes. As a matter of fact when my wife and I had stepped away from our spot for a few moments a group of 6 or so women set up behind us, at least 2 of them wearing thongs. From the giggles and nudges to each other, I could tell they were surprised to see a guy approaching wearing a thong.

The only negative, while walking the beach I did get some giggles and finger pointing, and a few children yelling at their parents that my swimsuit didn't have a back. but I've grown used to that and frankly, I don't care. They can laugh all they want but I guarantee some of them wish they had the balls to wear a thong. Some adults need to grow up, an ass is an ass. The one thing that still irks me every time are the surreptitious photos and videos. If you want a pic or a video, be a big boy or big girl and ASK. I'll say yes! But trying (and failing) to do it secretly is bothersome. Its the principle of the matter.

Glad to hear South Padre is an option. I’ve worn mine in Galveston before with similar experience. No problems but a couple whistles, looks, etc.

Sounds like a ton of fun. Going to the beach in Florida with my GF in thong bathing suit bottoms is so fun. I bought them from victorias Secret with hers. I get many looks on the nude beach by the space place. Love walking on the beach. Gotta try texas next.

I haven't been back to South Padre island in decades. Are there public pools to swim laps that allow thongs? I've done searches, joined other forums and facebook groups but there isn't a decent list of locations listing lap pools and dress code. All information redirects to state or local laws regarding nudity.
