Being Fit or Looking Fit

What do you all think about people who are overweight or a little overweight who wear thong, especially to the beach? I ask because part of me feels you need to have good physique along with confidence to wear a thong in public. Physique really shouldn't matter but I feel some people can be very judgmental. Now I have never had a negative comment or an encounter at the beach. I have seen people smile, wave, or talk among themselves but that doesn't bother me. I'm trying to understand the perception of a guy in a thong that carries a little weight. I know I carry a little in the gut but I'm in pretty good shape and been working on my weight loss for over a year and my confidence and my desire finally got me to take the plunge and wear a thong in public.
What I'm asking is what is your opinion of seeing or being a person who is overweight but also wears a thong, guy or lady?
Do you really care what people say about you?
Do you think people really care what you wear?
Most of the time when I walk by folks at the beach they don't even look at me which is fine. My goal at the beach is to not show off and get an awesome tan. I love the thong tan line, my lady friend likes it too. It's obvious when you wear a thong you show off your ass and the front can be pretty small too. I'm wondering if guys are judged more harshly for wearing a thong and if you carry some extra weight? Ladies, it doesn't seem to matter what the body-type is, they seem to be able to wear what ever style they want regardless of how they look.

Once you are past age 25 you become "invisible", as you saw, people don't even look. I am old & out of shape, I wear flat-front gaff thongs at the Beach, and roam freely.

In my 20’s, I would have judged. But also was more fit then and also content with only wearing board shorts to the pool and beach. Now that staying in shape is so much more of an effort, I find myself being more understanding. Especially now that I am the one trying show off in a thong.
Do I care what other people say or think of me? I’d like to say that I don’t. But if that were true, I’d be wearing swim thongs around my friends and family…but I don’t.
I definitely care less of what people whom I don’t know say/think of me. But the fact that I get nervous to walk around in a thong also suggests that I do care to some extent.
It’s confusing.

My personal choice is to be fit and look fit in a thong. If you are a bigger person and have the confidence to wear a thong in public I admire that.

I've yet to make the plunge to wear a beach thong (in my case a beach g-string). I too am a thicker guy and self conscious about my physique. I do workout and run frequently but I still don't have what I would consider 'the ideal beach body'.
Personally, if I saw a guy wearing a thong/g-string at the beach, no matter his shape I would say, "Kudos to him"! I would applaud his confidence and actually fine it really admirable (especially if he is a larger guy).
I am quite sure I might attract some attention at the beaches here in Florida as I am a rather thick black guy with piercings (nose, navel, nipple, ears). I like to think at most others would think, "Go boy!"

But, you never know.
I've a female friend that thinks I look good in them and says, I should go out BUT I know me. I am just too shy for it right now.
I really do feel super sexy sometimes but at other times not so much. I'm working hard to be the best me and perhaps then I'll have the "nerve"
I really admire your confidence!

I really don't judge if an overweight man or woman is wearing a thong at a beach. I really don't make such judgements. I saw a rather chubby gentleman in his 60s wearing a thong in South Beach last year just outside the beach and I wish I had his courage.
I'm a few pounds over my recommended weight (5'7" and 167 lbs) and I prefer what's comfortable to me given the location and situation. If that wasn't an issue anywhere or any time, I would just wear bikini style swimsuits with 0.75" to 1.5" sides.

I started thonging in public when I was 24. Back then, I weighed 270lbs (122kg). I was a heavy guy, but I still rocked a thong on the beach. I never had any negative comments on the beach. Fortunately, because of my broad shoulders and height (6'1"), I didn't look too chubby.
Now I weigh 240lbs (110kg). I went down to 220lbs (102kg) last year, but I gained extra 20lbs after my Achilles injury. It has been 8months since my Achilles injury, and now I feel ready to embark on my weight loss journey again.
If you guys are trying to lose weight, I suggest you do weights at the same time. Last year, I didn't do any weights and I just walked. I was able to go down to 220lbs, but at the same time, I lost a lot of muscle mass. My ass was sagging.
I am not too concerned about what others think of me. I want to lose weight and get in shape because I am trying to grow my social media. I have an Instagram account, and I currently have 1130 followers. I kinda want to become the next 'Christian Ocean', and I feel like I need to be in shape in order to gain more followers.

+1 on being invisible after 25. Everyone's looking at the younger crowd.
+1 on using weights, weights are better for weight loss...go figure. Cardio burns calories, weights build muscle.
Hats off to thonging at the beach, I haven't the courage to do it (I don't hit the the beach much and there aren't any thongers at the beaches I go to. Heck most guys wear board shorts, only a couple of swim brief sightings...)
My 0.02 - I want to look fit so I look good in a thong and I'd like to lose a couple of pounds. But it shouldn't matter. Wear what you want to wear....

Hi there,
Talking about other people's weight is a hot topic these days. I will answer in two sections:
Body and Weight
Of course, the expectation of looking fit according to beauty standards makes us feel more comfortable wearing a thong at the beach or in the locker room. I personally exercise a lot and have been on a diet for a few months already, and so far, I like what I am achieving. However, I would recommend that first, you accept your body as it is right now. No body is perfect, and what we see on social media involves a lot of things to look like that—genes, actual work, surgeries, maybe supplements, etc. So, be very gentle with yourself. If you want to be fit and gain some confidence wearing thongs, work for it, do it, and be very patient because it's a hard and long road, but never stop loving yourself and your body. Feel proud of any stage of the journey you're in.
Wearing a Thong
Wearing a thong, regarding physics, is a sign of confidence. I wear a thong all the time. Even when I was a little more "thicc," I still did it. I learned that people don't care, and the ones who do (because people have approached me to ask me to cover up) I wonder, their lives must be so boring and miserable for them to focus on what I am doing. I was just chilling and tanning. But that story is for another time.
It may sound very dramatic, but I’m Latino—I can’t help it; I’m dramatic. We literally could die at any moment, and I don’t want to go with the regret in my mind that I hesitated to wear a thong just because someone I don’t even know was uncomfortable with it.
