Not that the number up here in the Tundra was huge, but most years I see ZERO guys at my beaches wearing anything other than the Dork Shorts. However, this year I saw two other guys in actual Speedo/Arena suits and one guy wearing a strong thong.
Compared to the last 4 years that’s more than I’ve seen, not including myself, combined. Considering the number of women I see in thongs has exploded since Covid, and that Dork Shorts are starting to get shorter, I’m hoping that number doubles next year. I want to see A return to it being normal like it was in pics I see from the 70s and 80s.

My wife and I were on our annual trip to the island of Lewis on Scotland's west coast and we made a point of going for a daily swim in the sea across from our rental house. Cold, yes, but invigorating and me just in a brief bikini; one of 'myoddballs' bright swim briefs. On a couple of days we were invaded by American tourists from the cruise ship berthed in Stornaway, some 30 odd miles away. I think they were surprised and maybe shocked in a way that 'most' Americans are in seeing a man in little swim briefs but all were polite enough not to say anything, aside from commenting on how cold it must be. However, I saw a number of phones pointed in our direction as we walked out of the water. Sadly my wife couldn't complete the brief swimwear club as she had on a bright swimsuit and not one of her tiny bikinis as she might wear in warmer climes. Speedo style swimsuits for guys are becoming more acceptable, I think, here in the UK, thankfully.
