I'm currently on a vacation with a few family members enjoying Québec City in Canada. My sister was in charge of making hotel reservations and she selected one 3-star hotel in downtown. I checked the hotel online to see what it looked like and I noticed it had a heated indoor pool. I just couldn't resist to pack two of my swim briefs to wear at the pool.

Yesterday morning when they were still asleep and as soon as the pool was open, I put on a T-shirt, swim shorts, and one of my swim briefs under my swim shorts and went down to the pool. This was the one I wore. I have a friend of a friend who, to my surprise, wears a similar one but in blue and white and I found out when we all stayed at an event at a hotel last year and they joined me at the pool one morning.

There was only one older man swimming once I got to the pool. I was a bit worried to strip down to my swim briefs, but decided that if I want to get over my fear of wearing more publicly that I needed to to it then. Maybe I was over thinking it and I was in a different country and unique region.

So I stripped down to my swim briefs and went inside the pool. I stayed in the pool for about 50 minutes which I did enjoy comfortably. I decided to leave as two more people came in (I still stayed for some 20 minutes) and I was getting afraid the pool was going to get crowded. None of the three people who were there said anything to me about my suit.

I came back to my room just before my family started to wake up. I plan to sneak in again this morning as soon as the pool opens.

Well done! Baby steps. You’re further along than I am hah. Hopefully as the week goes on you’ll gain confidence to be more comfortable wearing swim briefs. Keep us updated.

Today is my last day in here and I just left the pool. It was nice, though I would have liked it if it was at the beach but it is too cold outside now.

I wore this one this morning. They felt nice though they would probably be the skimpiest I would wear to the pool or beach, even if I'm all alone.

Did any of your family ever join you at the pool? I think it’s easier to be seen by strangers who you’ll never see again than your family if you’re feeling self conscious of what they may think.

Congratulations! Both suits look great, and the "package" is presented in a reasonable manner. Keep up the good work!

No, and I prefer they don't see me in these at least not yet.
