There was at least one male swimmer in a thong and one in a g-string.
Imagine, one hundred years ago.
But in ancient Greece, sportsmen were dressed in thongs, as I know. Not very much proof, though.

Please watch from 25:00 on.

Great find Acelera! You can clearly see the swimmer getting out of the water in a thong at 25:19. The design looks very much like modern swim thongs available today. I'm guessing that was a custom made suit for him at that time. I thing this shows how much society was changing in the 1920s. A few decades before that would be unthinkable in the Victorian era.

Great find. It's great to see and know a hundred years ago thongs were part of the sport. I used to be on the swim-team and I always thought we should all be wearing thongs.
