Beaches in Southeast US

Post by Thongwearer »

Does anyone have any experiences in beaches in the southeastern US they would be willing to share? Good or bad?

I have a couple trips coming up and kind of curious about wearing the Speedos there.

T.W., our Forum members in Florida should be able to be very helpful with specific recommendations. My own experiences with Miami's South Beach as well as Key West have been great, and you will see MANY men and women wearing swimwear FAR smaller  than Speedos! (Although Speedos would be welcome as well.) I have even more experience with Ocracoke Island on North Carolina's Outer Banks. (It is part of the National Park Service's Cape Hatteras National Seashore.) Microwear for both men and women is definitely welcome there! :D

No, I've haven't been to Myrtle Beach, so I hope that Forum members in that region can help you.

The only experience I've had in the Southeast is Miami.

I went to both South Beach and Haulover Beach and I had a great time in my swim bikinis. I didn't look out of place nor anyone seem to bat an eye. It helped that there were so many international tourists who don't have these strange hangups about men wearing anything shorter than horrible board shorts.

Yeah - I wish we were going to Miami where I doubt anyone would care! That’s also on my list of places to go however.

Thongs are illegal in Myrtle Beach, you would get a ticket if the beach police see you. Our Forum Leader, Nate, vacations almost every year in MB and typically wears a swim brief the whole time - unfortunately he is probably the only swim brief wearer on the beach. I know in NC, that Carolina Beach is more swim brief friendly and I think even thongs are allowed there now. A rule I saw one time said the anus must be covered - so no G-strings for you. I follow someone on IG that has worn a swim brief in Pine Knoll Shores (near Emerald Isle) and another IG thonger has worn a thong in Ocracoke Or Hatteras.

Yeah I don’t want to wear a thong but just a swim brief.

I understand your concerns, but here are some suggestions! I can't speak for the northern areas of Cape Hatteras, but Ocracoke is an island connected to the other areas by car-carrying ferryboats. The Ocracoke beaches are pristine and never crowded. Since you are Thongwearer, I assume that you enjoy thong underwear. Do you have any thong swimwear that you are comfortable wearing in private situations? If so, make your Outer Banks destination Ocracoke. Take along your swim brief as planned, but take along a swim thong as well. If you have swim bikini microwear, bring it, too. Consider developing a nude tan before your trip, using a local tanning salon or the like. Why? Because the chances are good that you will become so confident during your visit that your swimwear will become progressively smaller, and your nude tan will work with anything you are wearing! :D
