I was young when i got into bikini's i willl show my age but when i grew up it was a hayday for biknin's. I have 6 brothers who all wore them, i swam all through school (1-12) and most everyone wore bikini's. Then freshman year in college it started off bikini's but switched to boxers (found out because i was on my college swim team).

There were some great brands/styles

Lee wright
Brut
Micro Brief
Hang tem
Bill Blasss
Jockey (i still have some in tubes)

Well hope i didn't post to much for today.

I wore speedos in high school when I trained and competed in triathlons. I also wore speedos under my wet suit when scuba diving or snorkeling. I recall tanning in a speedo after taking of the wetsuit.

When my sister and her boyfriend bought me a light blue pair and white pair when I was a junior in high school. The comfort and fit were amazing

For me it was in my teens and twenties. Love the feeling and look. Wearing bikini underwear makes you feel like on cloud 9.

Welcome to the forum bikinidan, I also found string bikinis in my teens and never looked back. They are super comfortable and supportive. If you haven’t already, I would suggest trying a thong also. They are awesome.

For me it was rebellion. I got tired of hand me down whities from my 3 older brothers or my Mom buying whities. None of the 4 guys I hung around with wore them. There were very few guys in my High School that wore bikinis or thongs.

This was in the late 60's but the chicks dug them.

Around 11 or 12. I had first seen them on display in department stores and in catalogs. I liked them just because they looked different from regular underwear—colorful, sporty, and modern, and they seemed like they would be really soft and comfortable. I didn't feel comfortable asking for them because my parents were kinda prudish, but ironically, around the same time, my mom bought me several pairs of shorts that had built-in underwear inside that was actually a lot like bikini briefs, and they felt really really nice. They weren't like running shorts (which were nice too), but these built-ins were nice cotton...maybe Pima. I think the brand was Studio 22 maybe. They were really popular one year, almost all boys at our school were wearing them. (The secret/debate among us was whether or not it meant that none of the boys at school were wearing underwear...or did the built-in underwear count?)

Anyway, I think that made a lot of guys realize how comfortable that design was with smooth, soft, light, uninterrupted seamless fabric vs. all the bunching and pinching of regular underwear, because the next year all the popular boys showed up in the locker room wearing Jockey e'Lance.

Surely, late teens, got my first in Europe in the late 70s. Speedos after that. The 80s were a great time to buy underwear, I must say!

Vectron I was born in the 80s and can remember the cool looking underwear in the advertising. However all were just cotton. I think now is a great time to buy underwear (bikinis or thongs). The materials we have available to us is awesome.
