It would have been 8th grade for me…1985-86….a tube of jockey elance bikinis from a department store….they were red, blue and striped!! I loved them!

The usual white y-fronts when I was a kid. Started wearing bikini underwear in the 70s and have always gone for colors and patterns that I like (especially subtle stripes). Switched to string-bikini underwear when I first saw it, and wear it to this day. I wear microbikinis now . (Speaking of : in 1976 and 1977, I had a summer job at a YMCA day camp which included helping out at the pool. I had begun bodybuilding and became interested in getting a bikini Speedo to work on tanlines. My ab work was coming along, and I began doing what I do to this day in adjusting it down as low as possible below my bellybutton for good ab exposure (without going overboard). Turned a few heads but was never questioned or criticized. One camper asked (politely) why I wore a bikini. I answered that they were commonly worn by guys on swim teams as well as at the '76 Summer Olympics.) Vacations at welcoming beaches in the years since have found my teeny bikinis getting smaller! (Some might say that I'm giving dental floss a run for its money! )
