Sorry for long story btw

Hi Everyone! So I did some thinking about asking between the volunteer or my youth pastor and I decided to go with talking to the youth pastor. Well basically this is what happened. I am not going to lie I was super nervous but I just had to ask. So I have tried to ask every Sunday but either someone comes into his office or I freak out and say never mind. Well I decided in a way to ask him two past Sunday since he gave me ride back home and he kinda got me talking about he noticed something was on my mind and if all was okay since haven’t been myself these few weeks. I just had to say something. I ended up just saying to him that he knows that the volunteers provide us essentials clothing like sock and underwear. He said “yeah I do “ I then managed just say nervously that I wanted to try different underwear then what I was given and I been wanting to ask him if it be okay if he got some for me ask we are close. He said “ that’s why you been trying to tell me these few weeks ,yeah of course anything I can help with i don’t mind at all.” He then said well if u have nothing to do we can run to store and see what they have I could probably get some my self he said. Well we went to Walmart and down the under aisles he asked what I was given and I said boxers and he said Ah okay yeah not a fan of those either. Well look around and I’m going to grab something and come back. He left for like few min and I know they don’t have what I want so sooner or later going to have to tell him I thought to myself. He came back and said find anything and I said no not really hr then said you want something smaller than boxers? I said yes and he shows me the pack of boxer briefs, compression like underwear, and even briefs and I said no not those and he then says we’ll they have these I wear these and gets a pack of these string bikini ones and he said these are bikinis but idk if u want something like that. It was also cool to see what hr wore too but I said no not what I had in mind and he then what did u have in mind and I got my phone out and showed him these links

He looked at it and said ah okay they like the string bikinis until he looked through the pics of the model wearing them and read what they were. He said “ Cotton Rib T String Thong…..a thong!!!” he said “ why do you want such kinky underwear the string is going to go up your butt.” all I could say kinda nervously was that I wanted something to wear that was manly like wearing them make me feel more of man and that I want to wear something sexy. He said I understand but the underwear you wear doesn’t make you a man it’s you as a person. He then was silent for a little looking at the underwear. Man this is much smaller than what I wear he said. He nodded his as he looked at the underwear. I told him is it Christian like for guys to wear that and he said your underwear choice doesn’t define your Christianity it’s you as Person and how you live your life. I then asked him if he wouldn’t tell anyone about what I wanted and he turned to be and said don’t worry about that and then turned to me and said you really want these kinky thongs. I said yes I do and he said what if u don’t like them and I said I will cause I cut up my own pairs of briefs into that style with string up my butt and I like it how it feels. He nodded and said Miguel your a good kid and every time I ask for help in church or help in the youth group you always do it with a smile and never complain. I appreciate that now a days hard to find teens your age dedicated to church activities. Tell you what I will buy you your naughty thongs…. With one condition. I asked what condition and he said never stop being you okay. And then jokingly says also may want to take more showers and wipe better lol I just laugh and he said we’ll order some and when they come in you can stop by house or I can take them too you how does that sound. That sounds great I asked and thanked him with a hug and we left the store. He ended up ordering three pairs and told me he would buy me more if I need some later since they are pricey and I told him I understand and thank him. I saw some thongs from several brands and ended up asking for these from a brand called MCE in several colors

It took a about a week or so to get them and when I found out they came in I was super excited John had asked if I wanted him to bring to me but I was hesitating cause don’t won’t anyone know and don’t want to be given at church so I asked if I can get at house.I went to his house on my bike and when I got there he handed me the package and said here you go but me being super excited about them I asked if I can open them there and he said yeah if I want I open them up and fell in love and he grabbed one and said man these are tiny lol are you sure about them. I said yes for sure and I asked John can I put one on sorry…. He said why not restroom is there. I went to restroom and I got undressed completely took off shirt, shorts, and was just in boxers standing looking in mirror thinking this is it. I felt like time had stopped lol and I took off boxers and put on the thong. It was amazing I can’t tell in words how I felt and how I looked in them. Turning around to see the string up my butt got me excited and thinking man can’t believe I got thongs I was so happy without thinking much I open the door slightly and I hear John say well how do they fit from the other room and idk why but I walked out in just thong and asked him how they looked turning all around but doing that caught him off guard cause as soon as he saw me he said woah!!! Well they fit you perfectly glad you like them now go put some shorts on since you aren’t the only thing getting excited. I put clothes on and thanked him with hug and went on my way. As I write this I’m wearing a thong and I have to say I love it and i appreciate the advice everyone gave me.

Congratulations, Miguel! A hearty and warm "official" welcome, now that you have your own thongs! You took the right approach in stating your case to a caring friend who was happy to help you. I have enjoyed reading your posts, and hope the advice that I and the other Board members passed your way helped (along with your faith in yourself) to get you "over the finish line" into "Victory Lane!" Your fellow Board members who enjoy thongs should be able to give you some great tips on washing and caring for them. Thank you so much and yes I’m finally excited to say I have my own thongs now. There are a few things I do have questions about but overall I’m super excited and thank you to you and everyone who gave me the support to ask. It definitely makes things easier when u talk to same minded people and i appreciate it

That's great Miguel. Such an easy way of achieving the result as well, you'll laugh at this in the years to come for the unnecessary anxiety. Which g-strings did you actually get, the MCE ones are substantially cheaper. I assume you still have to take the shopping excursion with the fire-fighter buddy for the other clothes, it's just that you don't have to worry about the g-strings now.

You'll just have to be prepared for the day an injury to your leg occurs and you have to go to the nurse and drop pants.

Yes I got the MCE ones and they are great! Yes already went with firefighter and for sure didn’t have to worry about asking him haha. I know what you mean I have to be I guess cautious or who sees them and hopefully wouldn’t want to get hurt so nurse doesn’t have to see hah

That's awesome, Miguel! I'm proud of you for bring confident in your new thongs! And I'm super impressed with your youth pastor, too, for his being willing to talk with you and to help you get your first thongs! It's great that he was there to listen and to encourage and support you! It would be good if more adults worked like that with teenagers!

Great post Miguel. What church do you go to? Man, that youth pastor seems like a nice guy.

I go to church too but I don't interact with the pastors at my church. They're really conservative and go by the book. It's very hard to open up to them.

Pardon this long winded response. I hope it is helpful.

It's definitely wise to be cautious about who you reveal yourself to, and it's clear you trusted really good people. Over time, and as you get older, you will figure out who you are, deepen your spirituality and practices, learn more about the world, gain more wisdom, gain more independence, determine what you stand for, and determine the friends you want to invite into your inner circle. You will become more confident about who you are--including what you wear!!!

So glad you are accepting your underwear preference at your age and living into what you like and makes you feel good. Very happy, and you are years away from where I was at your age.

BTW, I either wash mine in cold water gentle cycle (in a mesh bag) in the washer, and hang dry, or wash by hand in the sink, rinse, and hang dry. It's definitely better to use cold or lukewarm water (not hot) and hang dry. I use Dr Bronner's soap for almost everything, and I use it if I am hand washing. Any mild soap and a through washing should work pretty good.

You may not have access to a bidet (this should be the norm in the US as it is in other parts of the world) though I also keep "sensitive skin" baby wipes at work and travel with them. They are good for everything! (I've used them to clean my road bike in a pinch, clean stains off my clothes, freshen up on hikes and camping trips, for cleaning, you name it).

You are in a unique time of the world where things are changing for the better (and for the worse in some ways but it's always been like that). People are more accepting than they used to be and open to new things. And underwear no longer has to be tied to a political or spiritual traditions as there are folks from all ways of life and traditions across the spectrum that are proud thong wearers.

I've stepped away from organized religion for numerous personal reasons though I am still deeply spiritual (though there are some wonderful inclusive traditions and churches with good loving people out there that are dear to my heart). So, I am very, very, encouraged to hear about your story at your church.

One of the key men in a former congregation from several years back, (outlined in previous posts) was deeply problematic about male thong wearers--thong was a derogatory word for him--and used it wrongly. So, I lived in horror in a way (even as an adult). Thankfully, we are no longer in the same circles, though I hope he is possibly learning lessons about ways he used to be and trying to be better human (like all of us).

Now that I am 48, stronger than ever, and I am now a proud thong wearer (though don't exactly announce it to the general public). And my wife would proudly pronounce how awesome she thinks I am! It all worked out great in the end!

So when you become an adult and meet partners, you have the opportunity to be who you are and bring that--including your underwear choice--to the relationship without shame. If people embarrass you to hurt you, it is very hard, hurtful, and difficult. However, I have also learned that I can use that experience as information. Is this person good for me if they hurtfully embarrassed me? Do I want to let them into my circle of close relationships? Do I want to be around them? What experiences in their life caused them to be this hurtful? How can I limit my points of interactions with them? What are the people that are accepting of me, have my back that I can let in to be friends. Sounds like you have made some good mentors that have been helpful for you and glad to hear that!

Though, I live in much less horror now. I proudly wear Lululemon to the gym in no shame. I wear thongs when I'm in the doctors office, have to get shots in my bum while wearing a thong, etc., with far less shame and horror than I could have imagined. I'm still a bit modest (around the general public) and have never liked changing in a gym (and never will - which I thankfully have access to enclosed changing rooms).
