My dad was a tighty whitey guy. But when I was a kid, I snooped around and found a zip up leather bikini that I would wear when alone. My mom also had a red satin string bikini that I stole and got caught with. Ever since then, I've been into satin underwear and have a few pairs that resemble my mom's red satin bikini.

I am a satin lover too! Fortunately that’s all my wife wears, so I am set! I also have a pair of leather bikinis but they aren’t zip up. I RARELY wear them but they are surprisingly comfortable. Do you wear panties often?

I'd be lying if I said that I hadn't has a similar experience. My mom had some satin underwear: a dark purple bikini with some lace accents, an emerald green high-cut thong and one of those satin "flutter" thongs in white. Fast forward many years and I've got a handful of satin male thongs. Coincidence? I think not

I like to watch ‘vintage’ 80s video sometimes because of all the satin bikinis and thongs both men and women wore in them.

Indirectly I would have to say yes my dad did.
I grew up with my dad wearing bikini underwear and I was no big deal for me to see him changing clothes or walking through the house in them. He wore solids, patterns, and animal print undies all my life. I have a brother who is 10+ years older and I remember him wearing tango and string bikini underwear in high school.
Like you, I wear my underoos through elementary school and I remember having my first pair of bikini briefs/string bikini underwear in junior high. I also had my first pair of “man thongs” at age 13. I was raised to be proud of my body and (in our house) men were taught they should feel masculine, strong, and sexy. I didn’t realize this wasn’t the norm until high school. So I never grow up with the embarrassment of wearing bikini underwear or even my thongs. I will say i was the only man in my family that wore thongs but, I wasn’t a secret. When the laundry was in each of the family members' laundry baskets you saw what undies everyone had so it was normalized. To this day my wife loves that I wear thongs and encourages me to wear what makes me feel masculine, sexy and strong. I really hate that this isn’t’ the normal experience.

This is probably an odd question but has anyones father been the one to get them into thongs?

Growing up I never really thought that much about my dad's underwear because why would I? And I didn't really think there was anything odd about them because it's not like I had many points of reference for what other men wore. My only real takeaway as a small child was his underwear was much smaller than my underoos and nowhere near as cool since he didn't have Spiderman on his, haha. He did have some pairs that were animal print and I remember asking if I could have some because they looked cool, like something a caveman wore but he just laughed it off.

It was only around the tail end of elementary/beginning of middle school when I really started to understand that his underwear wasn't common. Heck, changing for PE told me even the briefs I wore were rare. This sort of coincided with pubtery for me so I naturally got curious and tried a couple of his thongs on in secret. They were definitely too large for me so in my stupidity I just would just sort of pull my underwear up my butt for a similar effect.

It wasn't until I was 16 that I asked if I could get thongs. I hated it, it wasn't like my dad was especially close minded or conservative, he wore thongs for God's sake but still, it was embarrassing. But I figured I had to since I'd need a credit card to order some online. What I didn't know was both FTL and Joe Boxer sold thongs, at the time anyway, so rather than get pricey ones online we took a trip to K-Mart and Wal-Mart to get me what he called 'starter thongs.' I think he didn't want to spend a lot of money in case I didn't like them. And to be fair I almost didn't! Maybe it was just those brands or incorrect sizing but those first thongs weren't super comfortable and I didn't know if they were supposed to be, you know? Maybe thongs were just meant to look sexy but feel tight and rub into you. I sure as hell wasn't about to ask my dad if he always had a wedgie so I just sort of persevered.

After a couple of months of me wearing them at home or one the weeeked, I knew better to risk being seen in them at school, we looked into buying me some more expensive brands. I distinctly remember sitting at the computer with him thong shopping, him recommending CK and Olaf Benz, and a couple other brands. There was a microfiber thong from Jockey that he said was new so he ended up buying us both a pair.

So yeah, he ended up shaping my underwear preferences, now I wear thongs 90% of the time, and was wondering if anyone had anything similar happen to them?

Now that I think about it, I got into thongs because of my dad. He wasn't a thong wearer but he was in the textile industry. So, there were a lot of panties and women's lingerie in his office. Every time I was in his office, I would go through the 'samples' he had, and I would take some thongs if they were my size.

My dad wore bikini briefs. I raised the stakes by wearing thong underwear. My son wears boxer briefs. One day, after running the idea by my wife, I decided to buy some thongs for our son. He is still very young so my wife lets him wear his thongs on weekends only, but not at school or anytime during the week. My wife for the most part wears thong panties on a regular basis. My son was destined to be a thonger like his dad. My wife and I are so proud of him.
