Gay v straight members

A place to talk about underwear in general that doesn't fit in thongs or bikinis.

Straight. I wear all styles, thongs, bikinis, jock straps, trunks, boxer briefs. I prefer thongs but I like to mix it up

Hello! Gay Latino married man here, 35 years old. I’ve been wearing thongs since I was 17. Most of the time, I wear them to the gym or as everyday underwear, but lately, I’ve been enjoying bikinis—I like the way the underwear line shows under my pants.

I also noticed you were discussing whether certain underwear styles feel "too gay." This is a common conversation in the gay community. Many associate masculinity with a muscular guy wearing black Calvin Klein boxers. Meanwhile, thongs are often linked to circuit party culture or seen as more feminine.

What are the conversations in the gay community about the microwear worn by bodybuilders in competitions or by male strippers?

Straight over here. Underwear: 95% bikini’s and 5% thongs.
Swimwear: 99% thongs and 1% bikini’s. For swimwear max 15 mm straps.

I am straight but I do enjoy watching some gay porn too, and always found it funny that gay men rarely wear thongs in porn, unless you look at trans porn, some of the 'twink' stuff, or femdom stuff. There seems to be more thongs in some of the retro 80-90's straight and gay porn, which I enjoy hunting for.
It's a common misconception that thongs are popular within the gay community, but in reality, jockstraps tend to be far more prevalent. It seems many gay men consider thongs to be too feminine, so they tend to be more popular among 'twinks,' 'femboys,' and some trans individuals. Here is my question. There is a lot of sexual categorization these days, and I want to know if femboys and twinks fall under the 'queer' category or the 'gay' category.

I just wish we could move beyond categorisation, that we could move to being sexual people. That fashion could move to being just a choice of what you like and not gendered.

I would be bi in the categorised world, but that would be a recent revelation and at 54 changes nothing about my love for my wife and my current life. I wear thongs mostly, would love to wear a dress (waist bands really do suck) and or skirt, but don't feel society is there yet. Would love the variety of materials, colours and cuts of women's clothing to be available in men's ranges.

I know it will be a long time till this is the case but we can dream and thank goodness for this forum where people can be people and fashion is just what you like to wear.

Yes, if we could move beyond categorisation , that would be great, who give a damn about what people get up to or prefer?

Love the discussion here.

We all wear thongs since they're so comfy, not cause of sexual preference. Why should sexual preference matter? I'm straight and I like flat front, it's just comfy. We gotta show that thongs are for everyone.

Hi, I think that most men, straight or gay, like to look good in their underwear - it's got to look good on your body and feel right like any other item of clothing and then there is the sexy aspect, which most guys I know accept and like.
