Its just in the usage ratio. Sleep thong - something skimpy, lacy, or white, something definitely not "ideal" for day use. Switch into a workout thong - comfy perhaps extra supportive. Day thong - something trustworthy and comfy too but can be a little off the beaten path - its nice having something different.
Sometimes another switch in case Im designating the day as a lazy day - shower after workout into PJs with something interesting, not necessarily a crazy sleep thong.
Ive gone through this and almost ran out of thongs once!

I have about sixty or so thongs piled up in my underwear drawer. All of my comfy daily wear thongs are on the top of the pile, while my g-strings and 'sexy' thongs are at the bottom. Since my life is uneventful, I don't get to wear my 'sexy' thongs that often.
I collect all of my worn thongs in a basket, and before they go in the washer, I give them a rinse in the bathtub. Then, I put all of them in a mesh bag, which ultimately goes in the washer with my other clothes.
