Inside for cleaner lines, but I had had outside as well. Preference is for inside, though.

I will buy me one pair of swim bikinis with the drawstring on the outside. I actually like the pattern and the cut of it. I hope to use it on my upcoming Florida trip.

I prefer no drawstrings , there is no real need for them with Lycra type bikinis . The only advantage is that it gives a bit more swimsuit look to something which is otherwise looking rather too small to be accepted .

I have some slingshot thongs and other suits that dip so low in front, there is no place to put a drawstring. The Asian suits say don't tie a knot, just pull the strings along the waist. If I tie a knot, it is visible above the waistline.

I really don’t care if there is or is not a draw string. For me it’s more about the astatic of the swimwear.if the drawstring is external it needs to enhance the look. If it’s inside I tend to not tie it.

Some of the original AussieBum bathers (Speedos) don’t have any elastic, and are only held up by the drawstring, so it would be difficult to remove it from that brand without them falling off.

I was looking at the ergowear 4d on dgu and it is £48 which I wouldn’t pay . I noticed the underwear brief is 31 and is polyamide and spandex . I realise it is single lined but do you think that would be a suitable purchase for swimming ?

All the swim briefs I have owned had the draw string on the inside. Swim briefs that are made for competition or fitness swimming will always have an inside draw string as they are designed to have low drag in the water. Being an avid swimmer I naturally prefer this style. Its just a clean and sleek look to me. Tying the draw string tight gives it more security when pushing off the wall. I also like it at the beach in rough surf.

I had a look at the brief , sure you could use it for swimming, it’s going to be very clingy when wet and I see it as having a bit more of a bulge . I use many different kinds of underwear for swimming when feeling risky, I love the fact most are clingy and transparent wet , Joe Snyder bulge thong is a great example or the UnderMoon silk /nylon thong .
