I actually have the Kiniki half back cuba in light blue and yellow . You are right it is rather flat fitting , but I can put up with that for a few hours . The pouch is rather wider than I would like , preferring a more minimal front , but it is actually quite a nice half back tanga . I sometimes email Kiniki with suggestions and I hope there has been an explosion of sales in their new colours which may encourage them to experiment with varying shapes and options . I would love it if they took a skinzwear or muscleskins approach . I suspect that for swimwear afficianados , who are hooked , who buy lots and frequently it would be good business for them . Many of our drawers I am sure are crammed with small swim stuff , whereas the mainstream buyer might have one pair of swim shorts . So come on Kiniki , briefer and brighter styles !

The half back Cuba I had was in white, but I gave it to the same friend that got the Andre. Hope he puts them to good use, although he felt they would be too skimpy for his local pool.

Yes white is nice too , I agree they are too skimpy here for my taste . But I will wear them at my hotel pool and spa in Spain . I have a friend who I have been swimming with here in the UK and he did wear something much briefer without problems . It was a true thong in his hotel pool .

Reading how your swim buddy wore a thong at his hotel pool without any problems makes me wonder if we're guilty of self censoring ourselves in the belief that someone is likely to complain if we rock up in a bikini or thong. Having said that, it is quite possible that hotel pools and spas are more liberal about guys baring more flesh than would be deemed acceptable in a local public pool.
I know an English guy on Instagram who swims weekdays at a hotel pool,and he has an incredible collection of skimpy bikinis which he wears for his lap swimming. He says no one bothers him and only occasionally will some jerk pass comment in the locker room. He does draw the line at wearing a thong.

I think that in many quiet hotel pools the chances of someone objecting to a legitimate swim thong are very low on a one off basis . Many people are transient and it just doesn’t matter because everyone is here today , gone tomorrow . But in hotel leisure pools where be is going frequently i rather think it is more likely to prove problematical to wear a thong . So I would be more likely to do this at a one off airport hotel rather than on my own leisure club hotel where I want to go every day . Women in thongs is a different matter and they are just so common now .
