Thanks for sharing and I understand that confidence is what it’s about.

I have often thought that I would love to do a social experiment where a man and a woman, both 40 to 60 pounds overweight were together side by side on a beach, the man of course, wearing a skimpy, bikini and the woman of course, wearing a 2-piece string bikini. I would like to see how people treat the man and also how they treat the woman. With this whole Fat acceptance thing going on right now, women are praised and complimented for rocking a bikini on the beach and "owning it" while equally men are shamed and told that it's inappropriate and they should be ashamed of themselves.

I am an older, hairy guy (front & back) who wore bikinis or thongs at the beach since I was a teen. I look very masculine, so I have never heard any complaints. After age 35 you are "invisible" anyway.

After wearing swim bikinis (and with 1" sides) for the last few years, I've just become accustomed to be tolerant and non-jundgemental what men or women wear regardless of body size. I feel they should wear what feels more comfortable for them, as long as it's appropriate to the situation.

So far no one has given me dirty looks or comments to what I wear, including at a hotel pool at a convention I attended recently.

But, yeah, it's such a double standard that women can wear something skimpier while men are expected to wear these horrible, long, baggy boardshorts that feel like drapes.
