I wanted to wear 'em cause I like the look and feel, but what if someome looks and says "is he wearing a thong....?" " what's wrong with him...?". Then I thought.....if they're looking that hard, well..... :D. Now, I wear gtrsings a lot of the time....

Why is it OK for women to wear thongs, feel sexy (and have VTL), but not for us guys?
Human nature being what it is, there is that little troublemaker called the "double standard" that is the touchstone of narrow-minded people. (Their lives are so empty that they have nothing better to do than find fault with others.) I've been around awhile and have seen (and experienced) much along those lines. As a child, I was an eyewitness to the Civil Rights movement of the 60s. As a gay man, I've lived and grown through the gay-rights movement as well. When there is any movement forward (as with equality for women, for example), those with a superior attitude try to push back, showing themselves for who and what they really are. (Religious extremism plays a role.) Yes, there is a double standard against men wearing microwear, but...SO WHAT? Wear what YOU want, when YOU want. It is your business, NOT OTHERS. You are not dictating their choices, and it IS a two-way street! Frankly, I would say that there are MANY more guys wearing microwear today than in recent years past. The selection is far greater, and NO company would make this microwear available if there was not a market. There are those of a certain age with what I call the "herd mentality" (all of us at SOME point  ) who just HAVE to follow the trends. "Bored Shorts" (the more fabric, the better!) are a great example. NO, men's microwear is NOT for just gay men, and wearing it and enjoying it does not make a man gay!!! It DOES show that he is smart enough AND confident enough to chart HIS OWN course!!!

Anxiety can be half the fun. I been wearing thongs since a teenager but never had the courage to wear one to the beach. Long story short, it's been 2 years since I been wearing a thong to the beach. I would suggest starting at a secluded beach or look for ladies wearing thongs and setup near them. Then go for a walk and get in the water. You're going to be seen, that's half the fun. I was nervous as heck the first time I wore a thong in public, that's normal. I still get the jitters now but I love the challenge. But once you get out there and feel the sun on your bums, it's a game changer. I'm straight too but go find a gay beach, the guys are very welcoming and would will check you out or get a thumbs up. Good luck, keep us updated on any changes.

I’ve been wearing smaller and smaller micro thongs to the beach for the last couple of years.
I’m straight too, but you’re dead right about finding a gay beach, everyone I’d very accepting of swimwear choices.
Last week I wore this https://tangaland24.de/en/men/bag-strin ... rt-savanna to the beach and one of the guys even offered to apply sun screen on my back and bum!

I think the anxiety is part of the fun. I actually want people to know that I am wearing a thong. Even though I have been wearing thongs for more than 20 years, funny enough, no one in my social circle has seen me in one. I just know that my belt does its job and keeps my pants from falling down. My shirts go below my waist, so my lower back rarely gets exposed.

I don't know where you are from, but it's winter here, so I have to wear layers when I go out. Maybe, now is a good time for you to wear thongs, since you'll be covered up by layers most of the time.
