Great story, Lonestar! Reaching an important goal is always fulfilling, and gives you the courage to wear the

"suits" (!) in the right settings. Jason, let us know how things go for you in Mexico City!

I fully encourage you to embrace wearing your Speedo in Mexico City, Jason. Enjoy the pool at the hotel. Maybe you will even make a couple new acquaintances.

Thanks, Jason, it’s been a really satisfying experience. I just needed to get out of my head. Most people truly do not care.
Having a variety of suits has helped. If I know I’m going to be at a family party or somewhere with a lot of kids, I just wear a plain speedo brand brief. If I’m somewhere with adult adults or more private, then I’ll get out the skimpier bikinis or thongs.
The best thing you can do is just not bring another suit with you. Then you’ve gotta do it.

It absolutely works. I was getting cold feet at a Marriott residence Inn in San Antonio. I didn’t bring shorts with me. It was a family trip so I brought a very conservative black speedo brand brief.
I was about to back out and my niece and nephew look up at me and say “ you’re not gonna swim with us?” And that was the motivation I needed. A few minutes later, I was in the water. And guess what? Nobody cared. Of course people turned and looked at first, but it wasn’t a big deal.

Congrats Lonestar! That's very brave and I'm glad you had a good experience. I'm sure that was a confidence booster.
Thanks everyone. I’ll definitely share some of my other experiences throughout the summer. Going to ask the admin if he would mind if I wrote a full post.

Good to know you're able to stay true to yourself even in front of friends.
I have about 10 swim thongs, and I have no problem thonging when I am around strangers. However, I have never thonged in front of friends, as most of them are from church. I don't want my church friends to see me differently because I wear thongs. Anyway, I hope I'll feel comfortable enough to wear one around them someday.

Thanks. I have worn a swim thong a couple times this year. I agree there are many people I would not wear one in front of. But at this point, I’m OK with a brief or bikini pretty much anywhere.
