I recently bought a pair of chino pants, and I realized that the fabric was going into the crack area because of my thong. So, if someone has scrunched up bottoms, could that mean that he or she is wearing a thong under?

Either that. Or they're going commando. Or they are wearing regular undies that are designed that way (like womens leggings are sometimes).

For me personally, I wouldn't care if someone saw my panty lines if they were from a bikini. However, if I'm wearing a thong my preference is that no one sees any lines... especially my teenage daughters or their friends.

But as people have mentioned the lines are really only an issue with the tighter fitting pants or thinner material.

Pantylines? Oh, honey, I stopped worrying about those the day I wore a thong to a job interview. Confidence sold more than my résumé that day! Trust me, once you go line-free, there’s no going back. Why frame the art when you can show the full masterpiece?

Thongfidence - I love it

I worried about VPL and whale tail for a bit. Then I got over it (or didn't care anymore). Like I said, if people are looking that hard, well...enjoy the show

I was in Europe last summer, and there were a lot of girls in white pants. I saw a lot of underwear lines, and I would say 50% were regular panty lines and 50% were thong lines. Some girls even wore colored panties under their white pants.

So, I think people are starting to care less about underwear lines.

I find it a bit of a thrill that my brief lines are visible. With jockey yfronts the stitching is quite thick so they’re always visible.
In the summer I tend to wear what in Europe we call slips, I guess they’re the same as bikinis for the US. They too can create lines. When I was in Spain last summer I was wearing white shorts and colourful briefs so I guess they were visible to people. It was a largely gay area (sitges) so most of the guys were prob enjoying the view! If I may be immodest!

I am starting to care less about visible underwear lines. I wear thin fleece pants these days. Since the pants I wear are thin, my underwear does show through the fabric. But no one has made me aware that my underwear is visible through my pants.
