swimmer78, i do exactly the same. its so nice to let the backstrap to enter and sit between the cheeks.... as for the question of cheekysmith..if you feel the backstrap is holding the buttocks open...well i think this question needs a lot of talk ... i think that a backstrap no matter what the width of it in some way seperates the buttocks ...if is is wider maybe even more..but only is the area where it rests because the cheeks are close as always are.thats why we say sometimes that an ass "eat" the thong...
in my experience..after soo many years of wearing thongs exclusively i noticed that in certain positions when i am naked i feel that the area around my hole (where the backstrap is) is , somehow, more open...i am sorry my english are not good and i try to describe as better as i can.but again i dont know really if this is only in my imagination or that area was always like this..
Have you as thongers ever noticed some changes like this because of the constantly presence of the backstrap?

That’s a really difficult question, i’ve got so many and they all fit differently, personally I don’t like the thongs / g-strings that are too tight and cut into me, I much prefer softer wider material that is comfortable.
That doesn’t mean I don’t own cutting g-strings, each has its place and a time for them to be worn.

Ioanniskef, I cannot say for me that it feels "more open" around my anus when I'm naked. It's probably because as thongers we are so accustomed to having material between our cheeks all the time, so when its gone we feel something is missing lol. I know when I sometimes where a bikini it doesn't feel like I'm wearing any underwear since I don't feel a strap in there. I do think most of us who enjoy wearing thongs, especially straight male thongers, are more comfortable with this part of our body being touched and don't have the insecurities about anal eroticism and pleasure that many straight men have.

I wear them right up and snug against the skin right through the crack t the base of the boys. I would think if it were not snug it would rub. I also do not like it lose around the boys. Side ball / sack is not good to me.

I'm not sure what is the right way only that I don't like my underwear's strap that goes underneath to chafe so hard. This is why I switched from normal bikini thongs with no thick waistbands to g-strings. I think it feels more comfortable that whichever way it goes and no matter how high up it rides, it wont hurt as much. I suppose since most thongs tend to fit me snug, I suppose i like it just naturally digs really deep. I try to pull up the strings higher up so the full Y shapes, T shapes or triangle/diamond backs are visibly seen over my rear with the strap really going into the crack and all. For someone like me, I'm not that tall so a very long fabric would cause my balls to get mostly a piece of string which really hurts. So ones with a wider front fabric with enough triangular space for my member and balls is great with long strings on the side to go all around my wide waist feels good.

Before I put on my pants, I pull the thong strap out of my crack so that it sits just between my cheeks. With movement, the thong strap goes deep into the hole. If I feel like the thong strap starts to irritate the perineum, I pull the thong strap out of the crack.

swimmer78 , i couldnt have said it better. i accept your explanation and i agree about the missing feeling. i sleep naked and nothing can be compare with the satisfaction i get when i put on a thong in the morning. the strap goes in its position and i feel full again hehe...as for your note about straight male thongers i absolutely agree and this is a subject which i have talked about many times with my best thonger friend.
I have to say that because we have overtook these insecurities, we feel so proud about ourselves.
the first thing my friend said to me when i asked him why he is wearing thongs was exactly that : he considered himeself clever enough to overtake all these stupid insecurities and enjoy a truly nice,elegant, comfortable style of underwear.

Mine vary. Like others have mentioned, I have some that I slip on then do a little squat to get the strap "just right". I have some others that I will slip on, then pull the strap out and let it naturally go into place. I don't like my strap too tight, for example, I have an N2N thong that I like but after a long days wearing, it can irritate the area just wear the strap goes into the bottom of the cheeks. I have some that are older, that have probably stretched and I don't wear often but won't throw out either, where the strap has become loose and it creeps up the top of my cheeks - and that annoys me but I won't put them in the trash either. I normally don't notice the strap, unless I really think about it. But if I wear a brief or bikini I notice that "something" is missing. Is it strange to not notice it there, but to notice when its not there??

The life of my underwear end when they are stretched out.i cant stand a loose waistband.even a little is enough to go into the bin.especially for the thongs.i want the backstrap to be tight in order to find its position and stay there.if it starts to creep up the top of my cheeks, i say goodbye. It isnt easy emotionally for me to throw away clothes, but i do it thinking that is time to buy and wear something new, is time to have a new experience.
As for the question of david nc...yes if you think about it it seems strange.but i think the answer is that you may not feeling the strap, but you know its there.you are accustomized to have / know you have something between your cheeks.so when its not there, you know it.and since the backstrap gives you mental pleasure because of its presence, when its not in your ass you are missing first if all this mental satisfaction and secondly the backstrap itself.
I think that swimmer78 can answer this question in a much better way than me....
