I could be wrong, but the lady neighbour might be aware that guys wear jockstraps when playing certain sports, so she might not have been as shocked as you thought to see you hanging up your jock. Can't say the same if it had been a thong you were hanging up.
Tanga, you are probably right , it probably was more embarrassing for me . Though other times i did have thongs have thongs on the line , but i was never caught hanging them up . I think she probably had seen those at well , but have never mentioned anything.

There is a washing machine in the tea room at work that the guys can use when working away from home at times.
Last week, I put a load of washing on before anyone had arrived, and then unloaded it all into a large open bag.
I had left that bag under the table in the tea room and forgotten about it.
One of the apprentices pulled it out from under, and was looking at the assortment of Calvin Klein and other thongs laying on top of the other washing lol.
To say he was a bit puzzled would be an under statement !
I explained that yes, men wear thongs too, and it is nothing new.
He just shrugged his shoulders and that was that really. I'm waiting to see if word gets around lol.
I hadn't realised that I put my undies out on top of the other washing , so I guess that they would be first on, and last off the line !
(I have a discreet hanging space at work), although I guess everyone will know about my thongs soon.
I'm not too bothered though, as one of the male office staff at head office apparently bent over in front of one of the women, and whale tailed a bright pink thong by accident! it went round the company grapevine for a few days, but it was soon old news.

That was a great reply to coworker , I am not sure what I would have said .
I think sooner or later , someone finds out no mater how careful you are and that is good you are not to bothered . I wear thongs to work a lot and try to be careful and not be to obvious that I am wearing a thong , but I bent over to pick up some papers on the floor when a female coworker came out her office and looked down at me and noticed the outline of my thong through my khakis , she certainly let out a laugh and I knew exactly what she was laughing about . It traveled through the office , and was certainly embarrassing at the moment. I had one woman try point out others that she thought I wearing a thong , because she could see no lines . Another's had mentioned while talking not to far out my office . They wanted to put a stickie note on my office chair stating I know you wear thongs. It has since died down and it not really a thing anymore . I guess I have gotten to the point it doesn't bother me as much.

I agree - it’s probably a matter of time until someone finds out.
Just got to own it and not be weird. If you act embarrassed like you’ve done something wrong or weird that makes it even worse in my opinion. Your above situation was handled great.
