Late to this thread as I’ve just joined the board but I have taken on this concept for practical reasons. After seeing the idea elsewhere, I’ve bought a number of matching “sets” from Skinzwear of a pair of square cut swim shorts and then either a thong or G-string in the same fabric. I’ll wear the shorts over the smaller suit. At the very least it works as a good coverup for walking to/from the pool but if I get to the pool and there are kids there or I decide a thing or G isn’t quite appropriate, I just stick to the squarecuts.

I used to do this when I wasn't as confident in public wearing a speedo. I had a Sporti brand square cut that I would wear over my brief to the beach. If I felt confident enough after getting there, I would drop the square cut. Nowadays I have no problem rockin a brief on the beach.

Makes total sense. And yeah, I only do this for practical purposes now. Has nothing to do with confidence, etc. I think I someone else mention this similar strategy but when I go to my condo complex pool, there aren’t a lot of kids there in general, but if no kids are there when I show up then I have no issue with wearing a more basic/traditional thing suit and if parents with kids come after I’m there then that’s there choice. If kids are already there I’ll keep the squarecuts on.

Truth be told, I do get a bit of pre cum when I am thonging on the beach, so I sometimes have to go in the water to wash off the cum stain  . Having layers may hide the pre cum, so I think it makes sense to wear multiple swimsuits at once.

I think the real plus for us about layers is the thrill of walking on the beach with a tiny dark coloured G/String on underneath a very light coloured thin fabric thong or minimal tanga, going into the sea, coming back out and it’s then very clear to everyone your an exhibitionist as you are walking soaking wet with your string on view as the top layer is transparent. I am sure others beach walkers slow down for the view.
Update: next visit to the beach I am going to wear my black Manstore Tarzan strap under Wojoer minimal Tanga
https://www.wojoer.de/produkt/beun-stri ... ush-tanga/ the cream one I have will be perfect when wet to reveal my Tarzan strap underneath , should be fun!
