Wearing a thong to swim really should be in the right place . I’m not familiar with Singapore culture so it’s not possible to say . It may vary depending whether it’s a public pool or a quiet beach or a busy beach . Or even what type of person goes to the beach there . And thongs are not the only small swimwear . Small bikinis , well fitted May look better too . You can still get nice minimal coverage .

Yes @aberman I think even until now, thongs are not readily accepted in beaches and pools but Speedo briefs, bikinis, definitely accepted. I only wear racing briefs to the beach, never worn board shorts or cycling shorts to swim. This, though receiving some subtle glances, likely due to a person of my size wearing it, is still quite normal in Singapore. Also cant find any kind of thong retailers in Singapore, I believe its because there may not be any local demand for thong underwear, specifically for men. Most places in Singapore are quite populated with people, not much intimate places too walk around in a thong. I'd still like to know what it's like to swim in them. I see a lot of choices online for swim thongs.

Hi ReoDID,
Welcome to the forum, we love Singapore, such a vibrant, cultured and beautiful place, out favourite city in Asia.
Don’t knock yourself up about your size, we’re all different and accepting here.
Last time we stayed in Singapore my wife wore a Wicked Weasel thong swimsuit and I wore a Cocksox bikini brief, I didn’t want to wear something smaller as I didn’t know the local customs. We were fine, but that was in a hotel pool.
BTW swimming in thongs is a wonderful experience, hope you get to try it.

Welcome to the forums and I agree, don’t be so harsh on yourself. No one is perfect, even the models we “think” are perfect they often don’t find themselves perfect. Wearing thongs does not make one gay, it makes one have more confidence in themselves. I have managed to shed a few pounds and while I have not gone down a size in my thongs, I’ve noticed some feel different, better even. I don’t know of any specific brands, perhaps Jockey. I would suggest not buying from brands like JOR or Clever whose products tend to be smaller than others brands. And I would not normally recommend, but I do recall some other members would wear ladies thongs. As certain brands fell women are more allowed to be sexy than men, they have created thongs for larger women. Perhaps someone can help direct you to a brands that isn’t to feminine and still allows room for your male anatomy.

Thank you thank you, happy you also had fun in our country. With a bit more confidence I can wear a thong for swimming. I might try to get in a bit more shape, I'm likely obese already for my height so since I'm in my early 30s there's still time. As far as hotel pools go, going there in swim briefs is quite commonplace, I live here and I'm also not sure about thongs. Maybe like others said, private pools, more intimately-private ones maybe hehe.

Thanks for this! I agree, someone from other forums and review sites talked about using a gaff or a feminizing thong? But I think that might just make me look flatter than I already am, maybe and there's a lot of irony in this, women's thongs might be good since the fabric is thin enough that it can give my member a better shape. I think that may solve a few more things for me like being able to find some underwear which are both flat, flattering, and string based which I really favor since I dont like the rolling up feeling of the side fabrics for ones with thicker garters/strings. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try checking up on some plus sized string thongs or g-strings online.

I have a smaller package as well and I know what you mean about a thong making it look nice down there. I also wear women's thongs too which I fit into nicely depending on the cut and fabric. I just got back from Singapore and wearing a thong definitely helped keep me cool!

Hi MBIT, what brands can you recommend? I think those might be okay, I'm likely going to fit in anything so long as the strings can stretch enough. That's more of the problem for me, finding the right size. I weigh about 185 pounds and I'm short and stocky with with wide hips and thick thighs, but frontwise, I think I can fit in anything that has a flat fabric (I'm really guessing plus-size women or XX or 3XL). I'm open to trying some girls' thongs/g-strings. Though, I'd have to start wearing a belt since I wear baggy shorts (as the wide openings keep things cool waist down) when I'm dressed casually and sometimes I have to feel the backside above my shorts if my underwear is sticking out, wouldnt want anyone to see my whaletail let alone one of women's underwear. On one or more occassions, I've felt the triangle of my iKingsky strings peeking above. Yeah, I gotta get myself a new belt hehe.

reoDID, welcome to the community. I agree with everything said so far. I’ve been an exclusive thong wearer for many years. The freedom and comfort of a thong is why I never went back to anything with more coverage. The key to most anything is finding your confidence, comfort and self acceptance. Many of us have desk jobs, myself included. As a result I do everything I can to be active, be in the gym, cycle, hike, and swim. By no means is my body perfect but I have found my comfort with myself. As far as others opinion, I’ve found your confidence will aid in a positive reaction. Just be true to you and others will notice and appreciate.
How do you feel comfortable bicycling in a thong? I have to wear boxers or pants with contoured front. Few times doing short rides with bicycle having thongs (and outer layer of clothing) caused very uncomfortable abrasions. Everywhere else thongs are 100% in use.
It should have as little seams in crotch area as possible to be comfortable when you are pedalling. I found just one which are perfectly fine (HOM Plume G string). I know that 90% of cyclist riding commando, but it's just not comfortable for me and any other underwear causing skin irritations.

Hi mbit415 and reoDID! I am the guy who wears the gaff thongs to crowded beaches. This stays on in rough surf. Ironically I also weigh 185 and have wide hips and thick thighs from bike riding. This is from
