Positive view of thongs
Positive view of thongs
While my current thongs are still hidden, I have been looking around at new brands since several of the ones I used to purchase are no longer made (Papi, CK, Undergear). I found the below article interesting since it was written and edited by women, but the researcher was a guy. So maybe thongs won't be in the big box stores anytime soon, but at least articles are being written to provide positive feedback instead of bashing the thong as "girlie" or only for women.

And correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't the thong first designed for men?? I think I've narrowed down the next ones I want to try are Daniel Alexander, Ace+Indigo, and Doreanse.

Since the beginning of human civilization, men have been wearing lioncloths, which is a simple, basic thong design. A long strip of cloth that you wrap around your body to cover your genitals, while still exposing your buttocks. Japanese men traditionally wore something like it called a Fundoshi (they still wear them). Men have been wearing thongs in one form or another for thousands of years!

While doing some more browsing I actually found a brand that is made right here in North Carolina, their trunks are sold at Target.com. It is called Wood Underwear. Their site is https://www.woodunderwear.com. They carry a selection of thongs which I was surprised, but delighted to see. Especially since made right here in my state.

That's good that you have an underwear company in your area. I checked out their website to see what they have to offer. Typical selection of boring boxers, but at least they had a small choice of thongs. Unfortunately, like some other companies, they don't show the back view of the thongs on the model, which is probably the most important area for potential buyers. Are they worried that the sight of a thonged butt will send a nation to hell and damnation? I personally wouldn't be rushing to buy anything that didn't show a complete view.David_NC wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2020 9:28 am While doing some more browsing I actually found a brand that is made right here in North Carolina, their trunks are sold at Target.com. On the red pair they show the thong backside while not being worn. I was just happy to see a new up and coming underwear maker designing thongs. It was also neat that they are made right here in my state. I wish Calvin Klein would start making their thong again, that is what I’m wearing today and they are super comfy.
I noticed the back of the red one was shown, but it's still not the same as seeing it on a real person. Just my opinion.
Re: Positive view of thongs
If you research the history of the thong (just Google it), YES they were initially created BY men FOR men. Women exclusively wore loincloth and men had thongs. The garter belt was also a MALE invention (to hold up socks) and tights were for MEN too (for running back in the late seventies). THE WOMEN STOLE OUR INVENTIONS AND PUT OUR STYLES INTO THEIR LINGERIE DRAWER. They are still doing it with the boy brief and boy-short (damn thieves, LOL). In looking at the article (top 7 thongs for men) I did buy and wear the Calvin Klein microfiber stretch thongs (No. 3). I found them a bit uncomfortable to wear since the back was stringy and over time they stretched out and never shrunk back in the dryer. I think they were mesh so they worked in the summer, since the other style at the time was the pure cotton Calvin Body thong.
If the thong was a male clothing item, why is it that men are so ostracized (looked at as sissy, gay, weirdo, demented) if we are discovered to be wearing them. I have worn them for decades and will NEVER stop. I got my wife into wearing them too. I couldn't stand seeing her in granny panties, when my taste was quite a bit more racy.

Re: Positive view of thongs
I was at a table outside my local pub, in the garden the other day.
Next to me was a group of six people early to mid sixties , mixed male and female chatting generally.
I wasn't earwigging, but they were talking loudly so I overheard when a lady (early sixties), said that she had just cleared out the flat of a male relative that had recently died. Apparently he was only sixty!
She said that she was surprised that when she cleared out his clothing, in his underwear drawer was only socks and thongs!
I expected hoots of laughter and piss taking to follow if I'm honest, but to my surprise, nobody batted an eyelid. one guy said "Fair play",
another just said "Each to their own".
The lady who had discovered the thongs was more curious as to whether he had purchased them himself , or if his carer had bought them.
I thought it was an odd thing to bring up in a pub conversation, and I wonder what the reaction would be of a younger group of people?
Anyhow, I saw this as a positive view of men wearing thong underwear .

Re: Positive view of thongs
Still new to thonging at the beach. I only been doing this a couple months. I've only got compliments and nothing negative. I was walking on the beach today and this older lady, probably in her 60s was rocking a bikini. She asked me something no one had asked me before, "Are you meditating?" I was a little taken back but she was so nice and polite I told her I kinda mediate but getting in my steps. She asked me if it would be too much to take her picture with her friend.
So she handed me her phone and she could clearly see I was wearing a yellow thong. She asked for a picture with the beach and a palm tree that was decorated with shells. So I had to walk with her to a couple locations for a small photo shoot. I'm a amateur photographer so I took some nice aspect shots. She should be happy with the pictures. She thanked me and told me to enjoy my walk and said she really likes my suit, that it fits me well. It was a great positive reaction and I walked back to my camp site with a little strut.
Later on I saw gorgeous lady walking up the beach, she was wearing jean shorts and a top. She walked by me and could clearly see my thong, she smiled and waved. She setup not too far from me. She stripped down to the leopard g-string bikini with pink strings that criss crossed her back and sides. Her entire back was just a small pink string, including the string right up her butt. She was curvy and looked incredible. I walked past her a couple times and she was just enjoying herself and made a point to smile when we saw each other. She didn't stay long so as she was walking away I happen to be walking out of the water, she waved bye. I asked her, "Leaving early?" but she didn't hear me. Either way she strutted down the beach in her g-string bikini. She looked incredible, hope to see her again.
Had one small encounter with a kid. I'm still not comfortable being around kids in thongs. A older couple I recognized was walking up the beach and I noticed a little girl with them. I was laying out on the beach blanket and didn't want to make a scene and when I looked up the girl was staring right at me. I played off like I didn't see her. She ran to her grandfather and I could hear her say, "Grandpa that man has his swimsuit up his butt!" The grandpa grunted and said, "Yeah, some people wear that." and they kept walking on.
