Breaking the Norm

Post by tbdrawer »

When did you break away from the norm and wear a form fitting swimsuit in public? What suit did you wear? Where did you wear it?

It took me awhile to break out a swim bikini brief in public. My first true public appearance wasn't until my early 30s on my honeymoon. We went to the Outer Banks and found a beach away from the crowded beaches. I wore my HOM Alize swim bikini.

My first time wearing them was in Mexico. I was invited to spend a week in Mazatlan with some friends. My first foray into wearing them was an Aussiebum nylon loose fit swim brief. There’s a photo of me standing on the beach next to my friend. He’s wearing his floral board shorts and I’m in my navy briefs with The Aussiebum logo emblazoned across the seat. To his credit though he also brought briefs and wore them most days on the beach too. There’s power in numbers!

Ashemm93-I didn’t realize the Army would issue swim briefs like that. I just assumed a trunk or short style would have been used. What was the overall reaction when everyone realized they’d be wearing them?

1985 I wore my first brief swimwear at my parents house in Mississippi. I know right...in the deep South of the USA.
I also remember wearing the same suit in spring of 86 when my wife and my side of the family went on a vacation to visit my grandmother. This would have been my 2 sister's 1 brother in law and my parents. My grandmother lived in Mesa AZ. My Uncle had a in ground pool so we went to his house to swim while visiting.

Then after that I didn't buy a new one when that wore out. It's wasn't until I was 52 that I bought a thong & string bikini from International Jock that I stated wearing bikini's again. I have a speedo brief and competition brief from Hammer nutrition. Those are the suits I would wear around my kids when I started wearing them. Now I wear a Rio cut string around them.

Stateof they weren’t issued we were given a list of non issues kit we would need before starting so people got what they wanted where as me and a couple others went with exactly what it said on the list. I wasn’t the only one wearing them but the first time I wore them i was embarrassed now i wear them all the time unless im at a water park wher I wear them under boardies and occasionally wear short jammers if I’m at a pool where it’s mainly other squaddies using it because squaddies. Apart from that it’s budgies all the way

I wish I could post a picture of a men's body building competition where the guys had to wear baggy shorts just down above their knees. This is getting sicking to what is happening against men's bodies today. How to stop this is the question?

I can't imagine a bodybuilder competition where all the competitors had to wear baggy shorts. Did any of the guys look p***ed off at having to cover up? I get the impression that most of the guys love wearing skimpy posing trunks because it shows off the results of all the hard work that goes into attaining bodies like theirs. We can only hope that sufficient numbers of these guys might boycott an event that would deny them the right to wear their regular posing suits.

They were all smiles of course. The guy that posted it said the rules were to wear style shorts. The guys looked like rookies not pros.

I particularly got into wearing briefs when I was in middle school, I think. This was also about the time I transitioned from wearing tighty whities all the time to bikini undies.

I had been competitively swimming since I was about 8 years old, but previously had always been wearing trunks. However, I saw other guys were wearing swim briefs, and they looked really sexy. So, I wanted to wear swim briefs, too! When I got over 18, I stopped swimming so much and sort of transitioned to jammers and trunks. As I got a bit older, I realized that I have a pretty healthy exhibitionist streak in me and an easy way to keep it satiated is to wear swim briefs when swimming.
