Anyone else ever have an experience with a family member finding out what kind of underwear you wear? Like seeing them hanging on the wash line, or in a laundry basket, or something like that? Did they comment or react in any way?

I remember it happened years ago with my mother in law. We were visiting my in laws at their summer home. We were all watching a movie when my mother in law came out of the bedroom we were staying in dangling a pair of my purple shiny bikinis from her finger and said “woohoo whose are these little panties??”

I remember being super embarrassed at the time, but looking back on the situation I think it’s funny now.

Did you claim them?? The only time any family came close was when I had some laundry in the dryer while I was at work and my SIL visited my wife who took mine out to do some of her own laundry. Anyway, I guess she was folding my clothes when her sister was there and she offered to help. I don’t know if she came across any of my undies or if my wife snatched them all before she could see lol! Wouldn’t have been the end of the world if she did though, if I recall correctly I only had some CK hip briefs in there.

I didn’t have to claim them. The only other guy that was there was my father in law and she knew they weren’t his . You reminded me, there was a time that our washer died so my SIL took our laundry to her house and did it for us. Washed, dried and folded. 4 of my bikinis were folded by her. I don’t think she ever commented, but she definitely knows I wear bikinis.

I hang dry my thongs and workout gear. They last longer that way. Plenty of times I had friends/family over, I forgot it was out and they saw the rack. I was a little embarrassed but then said "Screw it" this is who I am and totally said very calm, "Yeah just my underwear."

When my wife and I first got married her mother would come over to "help" my wife with this or that. Well she went to fold our laundry and I had a CK string bikini in the drier, she folded it made some kind of comment, but I don't recall. I'm fortunate she no longer helps, since now I have a basket full of thongs.

Yeah, how I would have answered that question would have been highly dependent on what kind of relationship I have with her. It could have been anything from:

I think I just responded with “wow thanks for that” or something basic and tried to hide my embarrassment.

I can't help but think everyone in my circle of friends and relatives know my underwear style. I've been wearing bikini or string bikini for many years. If the topic came up during conversation I had no qualm about talking up my favorite styles or brands I was into at the time.
Also, I have had a number of health issues that had others doing my laundry for me. When the clean bikinis got put back in the UW drawer they saw a whole crap load of UW. Yes, they did comment on the amount there and how colorful.
