First time thonging at the beach

I thought I'd share a post a made in another forum last year. This wasn't my first time thonging at a beach, but the first where I was the only guy for miles in a thong. My previous experience has been at a gay beach where everyone very tolerant. Just south of Daytona Beach, FL.

Here is my beach report...

If you're looking to be exposed in a tiny swimsuit in a the middle of a crowd of people then I say go for NSB! You will not be disappointed. They do allow driving on the beach so it was pretty crowded with a long row of parked cars and people hanging out.

My wife and I hung out towards the back of the beach actually behind where the cars were parked. After a bit I decided I would take a dip in the water. And boy what a test of bravery! The beach is probably 150 yards long at low tide. One of the longest walks of my
life (but also one of the most exhilarating). Probably took a full 5 minutes to walk down to the water, it felt like forever.

My thoughts during the walk...

Okay, lets cool off in some water.

Feels good to stand up, better brush the sand off everywhere, especially my bottom. Want to make sure everything looks good!

This isn't so bad, I see a girl over to my right with a cheeky bikini. We're like peas in a pod! Though she looks much better than me!
I think I'll walk between these two parked cars, there doesn't seem to be anyone over there
Oops, I was wrong there's a couple of women sitting behind them
Oh, wow there are a few cars driving by. I can't believe I'm walking through traffic in a thong! I hope no one is distracted

I just realized, everyone at the beach basically sits facing the ocean... Of course. But that means everyone behind me is literally looking at my backside... yay?!
Oh look at that mom filming her child playing on the beach, think I'll veer a bit left to avoid being picked up in their family video archives
Am I walking right? I feel awkward, focus on a natural walk, yea that's it!

I just realized the further down the beach I go the wider the viewing angle of people that will probably notice me!
Oh look, a few girls in cheeky cuts in the water, I'll head closer to them and away from the guys throwing the football

Finally! I've made it to the water

Wow this beach is flat, I've walked another 20 yards and my knees aren't even covered

Oh good a wave, but still wasn't high enough to cover my bottom half

Finally in the water consistently up to my chest. I feel like I can relax just a bit.

Wow, looking back at this beach, I literally had an audience of at least 300 people.
Wonder how many of them pointed out pink floral thong guy??? (a lot I hope)
Man, that was fun. I can't wait to do it again!

Time to walk back, this time I can look at peoples faces as I approached them. As expected mostly not paying any attention to me

It was really exciting and definitely worth it. I visited the water a couple more times throughout the rest of the day. Each time was just as thrilling as the last. My only regret is not going for a nice walk along the water. Maybe next time

Omg, I was feeling anxious while I was reading it, first of all, your writing is amazing, I felt like you were reading my mind. I have been wearing a thong for so many years but that discussion in my head never goes away, it is more manageable, but still being a funny conversation in your head with yourself.

But somehow, this gives us adrenaline, like a drug, it's not even a sexual thing, it's just the fact to feel sexy, confident.

The first time in a thong at the beach I was very self conscious. It didn't take long to realize it wasn't a problem and most people didn't care.

I just started wearing a thong to the beach this summer. I was nervous once I dropped my shorts but I felt free. I only have had a couple comments and they were positive. Plus I go to a beach (Ft. Desoto, FL) where people wear minimum, thongs, speedos, bikini, g-string swimwear. At first I just laid out and would walk to water and swim when no one was around. Eventually I summoned up the courage to go for a walk. I enjoy walking more then ever now just for the thrill of fulfilling a dream that is now true.

I have had conversations with people and nothing was mentioned, just acted normal. I'm at the point where I don't care if people see me. Anyone is a local knows the part of the beach I go to is full of people wearing minimum swimwear. My own personal rule is not around kids. I know thongs are widely accepted on women but men we're still a niche group.

I was 25 years old when I thonged on the beach for the first time. I went to the beach at 10am and there were only a handful of people in the sand. Because it was my first time thonging on the beach, I wanted to set camp next to another thonger. Fortunately, there was a young female thonger laying on the beach, so I decided to set up next to her. She had headphones on and was reading a book, so I didn't bother her. I stripped down to my thong swimsuit, and she really couldn't care less what I was wearing.

Eventually, the beach got busy, and there were others in thong swimsuits. I didn't feel too out of place.

I am 32 now, and I still prefer to set up next to another thonger. I don't mind being the only guy in a thong, but I do get scared if I am the only person in a thong swimsuit. I feel like I could become an easy target if I am the only person in a thong swimsuit.

I just started wearing thongs this year and wanted to tan in my thong, so I went to the beach on Lake Erie a couple of times. It was early in the year but there were still people there. I setup a good ways back from the water, and away from the main traffic entry way to the water. I set up and then stripped down to the thong and laid out. Front side up and then back side up. There were people that walked by even though I was off the beaten path per say. One time I actually opened up my eyes and saw a mother and her kids walking by. I know last year I remember being out at the same beach, before I started wearing thongs, and seeing an older gentleman with his metal detector walking around the whole beach. I thought, "I would never do that." Now I am slowly working to having more confidence of being seen in public in a thong. Right now I just lay out in my thong in my newly enclosed yard to tan.

UPDATE: So today was a beautiful day in Northeast Ohio, so I decided to go to the beach to lay out and then swim. Now mind you, I previously had gone to this beach and just laid out, this time I walked down to the water. I got to the beach about 1130 and laid out for a couple of hours. When I first got there, there was not many people and I set up about 50 yards back from the water. Within a short time, more people showed up and set up closer to the water. I even had a couple ladies set up about 10 yards to the left of me. Well after I was done tanning, I grabbed my goggles and headed toward the water to go swim some to get some training in since I compete in aquabike (two parts of a triathlon' swimming and biking). This was the first time I have actually gotten up and walked, where everyone could see me. I mean there wasn't a ton of people but there were plenty that could see me. Becoming even more confident in myself. When I got out of the water and walked back to my towel and stood there drying off right next to those ladies that set up near me. Granted, I went on a nude beach in Jamaica, but there weren't many people out there, and I wouldn't see them again. But at this beach, it's in my hometown and I could run into these people again, or I may run into someone I already know. I know I am too old to really give a shit, but I have been too uptight and now maybe I'll start relaxing more. Only bad thing, the water was just a tad bit
chilly....LOL But man, it felt so good just to walk and not really care what people thought.

October 2023 was my first experience wearing thongs to the beach. It was a solo trip to Majorca for those last bits of summer sun. Of course I was nervous and you’re always going to be. It’s very exposing but I think we all know that’s part of the thrill.

I’d worn my teal Olaf Benz swim thong on the way there so I was all set up ready to hit the sand. For anyone familiar with Majorca I was at Es Trenc which happens to be nudist. The nudist element was what made me comfortable to fell free enough to thong in public.

So I walked to the beach from the parking area, stripped down, packed my clothes in my ruck sack and walked the length of the beach. The feeling of freedom and the air hitting my cheeks. And the looks haha, people noticed but I liked it. I felt brave and I’m sure people admired it.

Later in the trip I grew confident enough to wear my black hom plume string to a smaller, more intimate nudist beach and I loved it. The non judgemental nature of a nudist beach makes it the perfect place to start thonging in public.

I'd love to try thonging at the beach one day. Just want to look for a beach where people don't get all prudish and make comments. Also, I want to lose a few more pounds.

When I started thonging in 2017, I weighed around 265lbs(120kg). Because of my height (6'1" or 186cm), I didn't look very chubby, but I was still a heavy guy. Fortunately, I didn't get any negative comments from others. In fact, there was one time when I put another thonger at ease because of my thonging. This was in 2018. I was still around 265lbs(120kg). I was at Woodbine beach in Toronto, and I was wearing a blue Gregg Homme Caliente thong. About 15 meters from where I was set up, there was a really hot Brazilian chick in a black thong bikini. What I noticed was that there were a lot of single guys stationed around her, and a couple of them did approach her. She rejected all the guys that approached her.

I thought she was going to leave because it was quite clear that she was attracting a lot of attention. She got up and started walking towards me. Then, she stood right in front of me and asked if I could watch her stuff because she had to go to the washroom. The funny thing was that I wasn't the closest to her. Yet, she thought that I was the safest option out of all the guys that were around her. I gladly said yes to her, and when she got back from the washroom, she gave me a smile and said 'thank you'.

What I want to say is that a thong wearing guy is never seen as a threat. So, wear your thong on the beach with confidence.

One thing I don't want to lose when thonging on the beach is that slight element of nervousness which I enjoy . When it becomes just 100 pc normal then I think it would be quite dull . So although it is good to appear really confident I would not like to lose all the excitement . It is quite a thrill to set up on the beach and to walk or jog and distance oneself from one's clothes . Knowing that you have got to make it back to them no matter how the beach population changes or who appears !

Since I made that post I actually tried on a thong at a beach when I went to Miami earlier in January. Let's just say I was not converted into a thong fan. It's something I would wear when I want a good tan or just want something a bit different. I still prefer full back coverage.

Jason, setting aside tanning or wearing something different, how did you feel around the other beach goers in regards to how much of your body was exposed? Did you find the thong provided support and comfort as you strolled around or stretched out on a towel? In short was it a step up in your confidence?
