Hi !! Modus vivendi is a greek company.their products have excellent quality, though are expensive.i have a few pieces of modus vivendi thongs and they are very good! I think that the tiger thong has the best fabric.viscose has a great feeling.the other thongs are from synthetic materials...i am not sure if they are suitable for everyday all day wear, but i am sure they are great for beginers !!

Ben, this is wonderful news! Congratulations! Keep us updated on YOUR progress :D as well as your son's! I think it's time to say "Welcome to the club!" for both of you. (And perhaps your younger son someday as well!) You made one comment that is especially relevant, so let me expand a little. Let's say there is a fit straight couple at a nude beach, working on complete :P tans. They decide to move over to another section where some attire is required, so they both slip on thongs. In the nude area, no one is questioning the man's masculinity. Now that he is wearing a thong, NOTHING has changed, yet suddenly the whiners and hypocrites are ready to have a cow. All he and his wife have done is go from nude to semi-nude, and that ALL microwear is at its core! Minimal coverage for maximum comfort. You noted that a style that you were looking at looked masculine. Bingo! IT IS! Designed for a man's anatomy to offer comfort and support, just as women's microwear is designed for their needs. Two other points which seem to be conveniently "forgotten" by the "Refugees From Reality:" male strippers are NOT showing off to the bachelorettes with bib overalls, and tuxedos as "product placement" will be nowhere near bodybuilding exhibitions. But @#+%$=@ if you'll hear any whining from the losers about those guys. Just kick the whiners and double standards to the curb by IGNORING them!

I suggested to her that the underwear he wants doesn’t seem all that bad. Her response was “ There is no way in f ing Hell my son is going to wear underwear like that.” I told her I thought about it long and hard and decided to buy him the underwear he wanted but I will suggest bikini as well. That didn’t help she said “bikinis are for girls and thongs are for girls.” I told her “ Listen I understand if you get upset if let’s say he wanted to wear my little pony underwear or Barbie underwear but the underwear is for guys”. She then proceeded to say that he better not wear anything like that in my house and that if she saw it she would throw them away. I told her “it’s just underwear for God sakes. You making a bigger deal about it like always.” She then said “ what will others think of him if he wore those they might then he is gay” I said no one is going to see him and I will have a talk with him and the younger one about it.” I told her he isn’t gay and even if he was so what that doesn’t change anything he is still our son. “ I told her “ I cant believe your so closed minded and how an article of clothing makes you gay” she says “thongs are for girls and if a boy wants to wear he must be gay” Is that so “so what your telling me is that your a lesbian?! It’s okay if you are?” WTH No!!! How am I a lesbian?! she said. All I say is “ I just assumed your a lesbian since you wear boy shorts when we were together. You go on about how comfortable they are.” She gets mad and says “ that’s different they are made for women” …. I laugh and say “ do you hear yourself! Let me educate you on why there are called boy shorts! They are called boy shorts because they look like the f ing trunks that I wear and so you do agree then about him wearing thongs” She says “No!!” I’m super annoyed with her and say “ you just f ing said the boys shorts are for women even though they are basically men’s trunk style underwear. So as long as it’s made for a women it’s okay then the same goes for the thongs since it’s made for a guy!” (Should have seen her face 🤣) she stays quiet and rolls her eyes like always and then says “whatever I’m not buying him any and he isn’t wearing them in my house. It’s my house my rules.” Then I will get them for him. The she starts again with “ he doesn’t need underwear like that” I interrupt her and say “ah ah ah my house my rules!!! Two can play at that game. I only brought this up out of respect since your his mother and I’m not going to stand here and criticize his choices. (Shouldn’t have said this but came out) ~> The last thing I want is for our sons to feel like they have to hide their true selves from their own family just like how you and your whole family hides who they truly are from each other. Please you can cut the tension with a knife and act like you all 💩 don’t stink. Pretend to care for one another and then turn their backs when someone needs them the most. If there is one damn thing I know is that my family wont turn their backs on me and my sons just like how your family turned their backs and talk sh*t about you and your own relatives. I know your family didn’t care for me and that’s okay since they weren’t mine. Although I will say I do feel sorry for you and your siblings and cousins you can’t be you in your own family and that’s sad. I wish you well just so you know if that’s what he wants I will get it for him he can keep all the thongs he wants at my place. I’m sure one day when he has a gf or bf if he was gay. I’m sure they would like that underwear style and accept him for who he is. In case you didn’t realize I’m sure there are girls and guys that like their bf or husband to wear those kind of underwear.” End up talking little more then hanged up the phone basically all she said in the end was “ whatever you do want you want” that was end of that conversation.
So glad you were a responsible parent and talked to people about this subject, were open to your sons feelings, and then let him be who he wants to be. It is so much better when our children realize that we, as parents, recognize that they are their own person and can make choices. Especially when the choice is about something so menial as underwear. We want to keep our kids safe from the cruelty of other kids, but sometimes they have to find out things for themselves. The thing is, today things are so different than when we were kids. The cruelty may be worse because of social media, but I think kids today are so much more open. I think you now have a son that will be more willing to talk with you about other issues that may arise in the future, without the fear of reprisal from his father. I am in my mid-50's I know that I used to have the same thought, that guys don't wear thongs and would never be caught dead wearing them. Guess what I wear now?

I appreciate it thank you. I try to be the best parent I can be especially since growing up I didn’t have much of a supportive father myself. You’re right at the end of the day it’s just underwear and there are bigger things to be worried about. Thank you for responding.

Ben,
I'll throw my warm welcome on the pile you have received here as well. I'm so glad to hear that you went to bat for your son to help enable him to be himself.

To answer your question first, yes, Gregg Homme is similarly great stuff to the Modus Vivendi you have already ordered. Great fabrics and great construction. I have a few Gregg Homme items and they are simply great!

Then I'd love to throw my experience on the pile, too. I was about 12 when I asked my mom if I could get some bikini undies to wear to school instead of the tighty whities that I was wearing. She went to bat for me and basically told my dad that I asked for them and she was willing to let me explore a bit. As has been mentioned in this thread several times, it is just underwear. This was back in the late 1980's, so there was a good selection of men's bikinis available at the local department store, and that is where my undies came from for a long time. I always wore my bikinis to school and changed in the locker room in full view of everyone and no one ever said anything to me about it. I was involved in sports, swim team, football, and weight lifting. So changing in the locker room was a daily experience for me.

At the time I didn't know anything about thongs, but now... I'll always take a thong over a jock every time. More comfortable and better fit. I would have done the same back then if I would have known.

Kudos to both you and your son for being able to have this open discussion and you allowing him to try something different. You never know, he may love the thongs, he may want to try bikinis. Regardless I think it said a lot of good things about his character to jump in and give this a try. You never know, your other son may want to give it a try at some point, too. You've laid good ground work to encourage him, also.

You, my friend, are winning at parenting.

Appreciate the welcome and kind words. Yes I have come across the Gregg Homme ones and they look like good quality so I may have to order me some too haha. Thank you for sharing about your experience and how did you dad react to wanting to try bikini underwear? I’m hoping he was supportive just like your mother. I for one wish my son’s mother was supportive but then again at least I am trying to be . I also hear a lot that many guys who wear bikini and thong prefer the thong more due to comfortable feel. Well I hope my sons likes them for the cost lol but I’m sure he will. We hope to get them sometime next week so we’ll see so I will keep y’all updated on that. Again thank you

I didn't witness the discussion between my mom and dad regarding the bikinis, but I get the feeling she told him it was happening and that was that. At some point, several years later, he asked what I liked about bikinis and we had a short conversation about it. This, in itself, was surprising because my dad is not a conversationalist. Then later I saw her had some bikinis in his laundry, so perhaps I encouraged him to give it a try. I like to think I did, anyway. Though perhaps my mom just bought them for him and asked him to wear them.

These days I'm about 50/50 on wearing thongs versus bikinis. I have loads of both, and I have no issue with wearing a thong in front of pretty much anyone.

I am definitely looking forward to hearing the outcome of what your son thinks of his new thongs. Hopefully it will be a solid hit, if not a home run.

You will definitely like the Gregg Homme products if you give them a try. If you like the boxer brief style, but hate that they are all flat front products (this is my issue with boxer briefs) you may want to look into the "Real Men" brand on Amazon. I got a three pack of their 6" shorts and leggings, all with their "B" pouch. These for awesome and I'll wear them pretty much anywhere. So amazingly comfortable.

Seeing that there might be some interest for yourself in the Gregg Hommes. I'm going to suggest a few to try

As you can see they go from mild to wild on their site. Ive tired a lot of their lines, with a few unfortunately discontinued. But ive narrowed down a few daily styles that might be worth a try.
I found that the Gregg Homme's are on the snugger/slimmer side, so if you have a concern go up a size.

The room-max Thong/Bikini - Great booster style pair, lots of space in the front, and with its groove pouch it pushes things out. Not everyone is a fan of these types of undies, the ones that are "sectioned" pouches arnt always my favourites, but this system seems to work for me, and not uncomfortable long term.

Yoga Thong/Bikini - Probably one of my favorites that they make at the moment, great fabric, decent stretch, awesome daily and fun wear. Lots of colours to choose from

Wonder Thong/Bikini - One of their classic popular styles, more of a fitted style, tad snugger in the front but a decent daily wear if you like the fit. Doesnt have as much stretch as their others because i believe its a double lined front pouch, but i consider it probably one of the more toned down pairs from my list. In a good way.

Voyeur Thong/Bikini - Super stretchy, looks more like a novelty pair, but i found them to be really nice for daily wear, definetly puts things on show, but something about the fit i really like.

Torridz Thong/Bikini - would definitely consider this a fun pair, material might be a bit thin for a daily wear i found and can get a bit pokey when worn under jeans/etc But definetly is a great show off pair
