Hey there, thanks for sharing.

I was very much like your son when I was a teenager. I also cut my briefs and made them look like thongs. I also grew up in a conservative environment (Christian parents and living in a Muslim country). I had to hide my thongs in my school bag and I just couldn't be open about my underwear.

Here is my concern. I don't want your son to think that thong- wearing is a kink or a fetish. For me, it was a kink because I had to stay low-key.

Eventually, your son will become an adult and move away from you and your ex. Once he becomes an adult, he is going to buy his own thongs. As a parent, you should try to make thongs seem like normal underwear.

I don't have much to add to this, as I'm not a parent and my own personal experiences were many years ago. Lots of good advice here already from everyone. But I was 13 when I started wearing bikini briefs (in the late 80s) and it was a contentious topic between me and my parents, overall. I am straight and always have been, even as I do have interest in underwear! In short, their "concerns" were never borne out.

As that young teenager, I stuck to my guns, so to speak. That said, wearing bikini underwear as a guy in the late 80s in the locker room was different, but I wasn't the only one (though in the minority). I have no idea what it would be like for a 13 or 14 year old today. So my only point here really is to keep his wishes in mind as well...ultimately, he's the one wearing his clothes and, as we all know, it doesn't get any closer or more personal than one's underwear!

Ben: thanks for the update! I've got some thoughts to share later, but I think we all deserve to catch our breath for a minute(!) I hope you will enjoy this howler from one of the classic screwball comedies. Tense discussions about "articles of clothing" are nothing new! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mDxhG19oM ... @OR-Tacoma
Yes, it wasn’t my intention but it’s difficult dealing with someone who is as closed minded as her but what can you do ? I appreciate the kind words and yes just need to focus on the kids.

Thank you for sharing. You are right I don’t want him to feel like it’s something he should feel ashamed of or treat it as kinky wear. I agree I do plan to have an open talk with him and his brother about it for sure. You are right though need to treat like regular underwear.

Thanks for answering! I see what you mean at the end of the day it’s going to be something that is personal to him. Good point! We all have our own dislikes and likes

Haha you’re right even at that time people still are concerned about what others wear. Nothing has changed! Funny little clip 😆

I have talked to my son to send me the link of the pairs he was looking at. I haven’t told him I would buy yet but I told him I would think about it. He sent me these links and my he has a list 🤣:

https://e-modusvivendi.com/underwear/th ... -zebra-en/

https://e-modusvivendi.com/thongs-line- ... 617-black/

https://e-modusvivendi.com/underwear/le ... 1117-blue/

https://e-modusvivendi.com/special-coll ... 516-black/

https://e-modusvivendi.com/special-coll ... 212-black/

https://e-modusvivendi.com/shop/origina ... 211-green/

I have seen they had bikini styles on the website and showed him the links you have shared with me and he said he likes them but would prefer these. I was like are you sure what about bikini it’s smaller cut but no complete thong you know trying to persuade him haha and it wasn’t enough he said he really would prefer these because they look 👀 better to him. He said it’s also hot where we live and it would be better. I was like okay well let me see and u let you know. He is set on these and I did tell him that they are pricey which I don’t mind paying for but you have to make sure you like them and wear them 100%. He said he understood and that he is 100%. I was like okay we’ll see. Has anyone tried these?
