Thanks for the suggestions. I just meant I didn’t want to wear one on my upcoming trips - one day if we go up to the outer banks I’ll consider the swim thong. I do have several that I like and yes I do wear thong underwear.

You are quite welcome! Wherever you go on your vacation, give us an update when you return home!

I found a page that list places that are thong friendly or not. It's called No fashion police. They have links to the sources. If Nate is OK with it I can post a link if we already don't have it posted somewhere else in forums.

Thanks everyone. I did end up wearing my swim briefs at Myrtle beach and I was for sure in the minority but that’s ok.

When we’re on a beach or by a pool, we always wear thongs. We’ve been to several places down south … Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica but the absolute best place was South Beach. It was the only place I felt totally comfortable wearing a thong. We hung out around the 12th Street gay area which is great because I’m bi. There was lots of eye candy, most guys were wearing Speedos with some wearing thongs. It sure did satisfy my exhibitionist side as well, walking from the beach into the water you knew there were eyes on you as your bulge is bouncing around. It’s always pleasurable laying out in the sun wearing a tiny thong knowing that you’re around like minded people. No rude comments, no nasty stares, just a fun day at the beach. Absolutely perfect !

I was also in South Beach when I went to Miami last January. I was so glad to be able to wear a bikini speedo with low sides (1" inch") and not worried about unwanted stares, comments, or looking out of place. It helps that there are so many international tourists who don't have these hangups about what other people wear at the beach.Bruce Thong wrote: Fri Jul 26, 2024 8:31 am When we’re on a beach or by a pool, we always wear thongs. South Beach is one of the best, no doubt. I've received a couple of snarky negative comments in the past, but nothing that discouraged me in the least. One thing I like to do is go for a long walk on the beach, then walk back on the sidewalk along Ocean Dr (still wearing only my thong swimsuit and flip flops).Bruce Thong wrote: Fri Jul 26, 2024 8:31 am When we’re on a beach or by a pool, we always wear thongs. I’d love to go to south beach sometime - would be nice to not be an outcast in a Speedo

Florida beaches are pretty open-minded from what I've seen. I've seen a few guys in swim briefs in the Tampa area.
The Treasure Coast is also pretty laid back, and is actually a pretty good place to start wearing them out in public since the beaches are way quieter. In a few spots you can be the only person on the beach.
Cocoa is also pretty relaxed. Separate story, but when I first started wearing swim briefs I went out to the beach after a convention that we had in town. Little did I know that my wife's aunt likes to take her evening strolls along the beach, and she ran into me as I was walking out of the water in my Speedo
We had a good laugh and made plans to hang out the following evening for a play. She's a more conservative, play-it-safe kind of person. So if she didn't have an issue with it, almost nobody will even bat an eye.

I keep hearing that not that far from my neck of the woods that in Galveston, it is not a big issue for speedos or thongs. I still don't have that confidence to wear my speedos there, unless I come with a small group of friends who don't care about what I wear.
