Speedos on the High St
Last month I had to return some wrong sized fleeces, which were Christmas gifts, to a sports shop in my local shopping centre. They don't do cash refunds, so rather than accept a credit note, I had a look around for something else. While I was looking for winter clothing I noticed they had several speedos on hangers in the swimwear department. Even though I had no intention of buying one, I still made a point of going over and picking a few up to check the price and cut of the garment. They were fairly conservative with modest sides and back, but at least they were an option from the norm.

I hardly look for small swimwear or underwear on the high street now . Debenhams (now defunct) used to sell Fredy thongs , which were very sexy looking but cut into me like cheese wire . Fenwicks in Newcastle used to sell tanga sided 1/2 back swim stuff years ago but I am sure very few stores will sell anything smaller than a speedo which is of no interest to me . Maybe I should check again . Maybe I have too much time on my hands .
I think in general small niche swimwear has always been the domain of the classified newspaper ads , from the wonderful Intersparta days in the 1980s and then onto the internet . But maybe it is worth me taking another look . Even sloggi tangas seem to have disappeared .

Re: Speedos on the High St
I like seeing skimpier stuff but it's been a while since I bought any. Too deep in the game so I already know what I like. Stuff is always baggy, ok fabrics, too thick and waistband too wide. Doesn't stop me from looking at underwear aisles. I've seen way more color that before, more "mature" looking briefs which don't look half bad. So that's nice. Hell, even all hot pink pair of Calvins made me take a second look for a moment. I don't really do those full briefs anymore but it definitely was tempting.

About the only B&M stores that sell men's bikinis and thongs around here are adult stores. Walmart, Macy's, Kohls, Target, etc. only sell boxer briefs now. Like I said, adult stores still carry skimpies for men, but a very small selection and very expensive!

A quick story about my first speedo experience:
There is one B&M shop in my area that sells swim briefs. It's a small store that sells competitive swim gear and caters to local age group swim teams. In fact it's where I bought my first speedo back in 2015. I had recently gotten serious about fitness/competitive swimming and decided it was time to make the switch from a jammer to a brief. I had been working up the courage to don a speedo at the pool for a long time. It was nice because the store allowed you to try on swimwear and because it was their specialty I was spared the "walk of shame" to the cash register as in a large store. You can imagine my excitement trying on a speedo for the first time and seeing myself in the mirror. It was a solid black Speedo Endurance+ brief with 4-inch sides, a pretty conservative cut but very new and exciting to me. I don't consider myself a fetishist, but I got quite turned on and erect by the tight, smooth fabric and the thought of wearing it at the pool. I got home with my new speedo and proudly showed it to my wife. It definitely raised an eyebrow with her lol. Once I swam in that speedo I was hooked and there was no going back. Nowadays I buy my stuff online.
The only other speedos I've seen on "High St" here was at an Academy Sports and Outdoors store a few years back. They had a couple Speedo brand briefs, very conservative, in solid black or navy. Sadly, the last time I was in there they were no wear to be found. Only baggy male burqas I'm afraid.

So proud of you, Swimmer 78. If you like how you look and the w wife is ok with that look, dear man, just enjoy! Rock that swim brief, bud. I'm sure you look great.

Pleased to report that the shop TATABLUE in Mondello Sicily still has a good selection of speedos on display.
