Have a look at Cocksox, they make wider backs to thongs, Gregg Homme is also a suggestion, but pretty expensive.

Do you mean the waistband or the string itself? If you're looking for the latter then Kiniki's buddy thong has a wide strap.

I like to wear BBlair "slingshot style" low-cut gaff thongs, the narrowest part at the crotch is 2" wide and they get wider in back and front. These are mainly for cosplay or drag, but I wear them at crowded beaches for a nice, smooth, modest look. They stay on in rough surf too.

Yes, the Kiniki Buddy thong is wider, also you might consider a narrow-backed string bikini or tanga...at least for me, the Kiniki Kelly tanga or a couple of the posing-brief types on Amazon tend to have a thong-like effect, if you catch my meaning!
