The dryer ate my underwear!
I went to the laundromat earlier this week to do a load of laundry and the dryer destroyed on of my more comfortable, well-fitting string bikinis. It looked as if someone stuffed it through the cage of the dryer cylinder with an icepick. It was torn up and beyond repair and I had to throw it in the rubbish bin. It was the strangest thing, it looked as if someone deliberately stuffed it through the dryer cage, into a hole smaller than the diameter of a pencil. I cannot figure out how that happened... it seems like a physical impossibility!

Dude! What a nightmare!
When I attended West Virginia University (in the northern part of the state), Pittsburgh was just over the border, and I treated myself to the Sunday "Pittsburgh Press," which I read through. The Sunday magazine insert had a weekly column entitled...
"The Unexplained"!! If you were monitoring the progress of your laundry (meaning no "funny business"
from other patrons!) maybe that pair got caught in the inner mechanism and mangled during the drying phase. Whatever happened...bummer! Hopefully, another pair can become the "new favorite"!

I'm not sure this has ever happened to me, although I know a couple of women who have had their underwear eaten by either the washer or the dryer. I remember in grad school I lost one or two in the laundry, although I also had a suspicion that they were stolen (I think one was a thong and one was a string bikini.)

Re: The dryer ate my underwear!
Don't recall ever having an issue with the washing machine eating my underwear, but many years ago my younger sister and her friend would sometimes help out my Mother with the ironing, and I'd come home and discover some of my favourite Kiniki nylon bikinis had met their maker at the hands of a too hot iron. Needless to say, after that, my undies were deemed off limits whenever they felt like wielding the iron.

Re: The dryer ate my underwear!
I used to share a duplex with a couple (Michael & Maria). One of them had been stealing my underwear (I suspect Maria) and giving them to her boyfriend to wear. Once, I had finished a load of wash and was putting it into the dryer, and I had to remove their laundry from the dryer, when I found one of my purple bikinis that had disappeared months before. Michael had been wearing them. I had already replaced them and didn't want them back, so I let him keep them.Pennbikini wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 8:10 am I'm not sure this has ever happened to me, although I know a couple of women who have had their underwear eaten by either the washer or the dryer. Why were they ironing your underwear? Didn't they know that you cannot iron synthetic fabrics because they heat would destroy them?TANGA TANGA wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 8:32 am Don't recall ever having an issue with the washing machine eating my underwear, but many years ago my younger sister and her friend would sometimes help out my Mother with the ironing, and I'd come home and discover some of my favourite Kiniki nylon bikinis had met their maker at the hands of a too hot iron. They either had some brassneck or were as dumb as a rock to steal your underwear AND continue to wash and dry it where you could easily come across it. Also, you've been open about your weight issues and how difficult it is to get underwear that fits, so I'm guessing Michael was also a big guy otherwise the bikini would have looked like granny pants on him. The only possible positive of this situation is that you helped introduce Michael to the delights of wearing bikinis. Did you notice if his other underwear was boxers etc?JustSomeDude71 wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 5:13 pmI used to share a duplex with a couple (Michael & Maria). Re: The dryer ate my underwear!
He has gained weight in the last year because he had a double hip replacement, so he has been on temporary disability. I saw him last month and he told me that he has gained 40 pounds since being out on disability. So, I suppose he could wear my old bikinis and they wouldn't be too baggy. I gave him a few thongs a couple of years ago because they were a bit tight on me. and I know he wore them because I have seen all of them in their laundry. I have given him quite a few bikinis and thongs over the years. Maria certainly likes to see him in them. But still, no reason to steal my personal underwear, they aren't expensive, and they could easily afford to buy their own.TANGA TANGA wrote: Wed Aug 02, 2023 4:18 amThey either had some brassneck or were as dumb as a rock to steal your underwear AND continue to wash and dry it where you could easily come across it. And yes, he wears boxers, aside from what they have been stealing from me.
