First time thonging at the beach

I wore a thong to the beach today in Southwest Michigan. I wear them and G-strings often. Today I went to what is known as the adult end of the beach, I setup about 50 foot from a couple of girls. After about 25 minutes a couple with a young daughter maybe 8 yrs old came and setup about 25' from me as I was laying on my stomach, so they had no trouble seeing what I had on. When I left the beach I had to walk up a grassy hill, as I was walking I herd a girl's voice saying yeah I see it. I would guess it was me they were talking about. I just smiled to myself and thought I hope you enjoyed it. I don't wear a cover up anymore as it's just one more thing to get sand out of.

Ralange, I like your humorous take on avoiding wearing a "cover-up!" Hmmm...just what NEEDS "covering-up"?!? What are THEY afraid of seeing?!? Reasonable exposure of the human body in a way they secretly desire for themselves?!? And who gives THEM the right to dictate YOUR choices?!?

As a guy I pick my spots to go for the obvious stereotypes and stigmas that go with it. That being said my experiences in so cal and abroad have all been positive. As a bi make the reaction from women has had a few negative reactions but I only wear a thong so no one should be judged based on what they wear

Update: Finally did it yesterday!! Definitely an overall positive experience aside from the resulting sunburn.

Most people didn't bat an eye, and a few talked to me normally without even mentioning it. A few times throughout the day I couldn't tell whether weird looks/laughs/phone cameras were pointed at me, but I also didn't care because I didn't have any negative interactions with people. My friend and I struck up a conversation with one lady and I mentioned my "experiment." She assured me that it wasn't weird, that I looked good and my body's in shape so I should just do me and fuck what anyone else thinks! She went on to share a similar anecdote of her own.

On the boardwalk just before we left, one girl saw me from the front and said, "rockin' the speedo man!!" Her friends cheered and it made my whole day, even if they were being somewhat ironic

Great news, Straw-Strings! After the sunburn has had a chance to calm down (perhaps leaving the basis for some great tanlines!) get a good sports sunblock cream with an SPF of 50, and apply it at least 30 minutes before heading out into the sun. You and your friend can apply it to each other's backs. The sports creams handle sweat better, but take it along to the beach and reapply later, especially if you go in the water. There are also good spray versions, too. Follow these same suggestions even if your beach visit is on a cloudy day, because clouds do not block the burning rays! Good luck!

It occurred to me that thong tanlines might be something you would be interested in developing. You might want to try a few sessions per week in a tanning bed or booth wearing your thong (or perhaps a nude tan while wearing a "cocksock"). Or some sunbathing on a patio or deck (with a kitchen timer to allow for gradually-increasing exposure). Or perhaps you and your friend could apply your sunblock cream or spray upon arrival at the beach, followed by some strolling around to expose your skin while the sunblock starts working. The sun's rays cause the most trouble for burning between 10AM and 2PM, so arriving at the beach early when you apply the sunblock there might work out okay. Let us know how it goes!

Haha as a fair-skinned guy it's not the first time the sun and I have butt heads. I applied and re-applied a couple times but my mistake was experimenting with SPF 25 tanning oil instead of proper sunscreen. Definitely sport 30+ next time. But then, I also didn't realize my friend would want to stay on the beach for 7 hours. The areas that get exposed more regularly (face, arms, calves, and to a lesser extent shoulders) are actually fine, but my thighs and torso are a different story lol. And yes, my butt is red too but thankfully it doesn't hurt as much as my quads or stomach.

As an apartment renter, I don't really have access to a place where I can sunbathe regularly :/ That's part of the reason I've been trying to get out for shirtless biking/jogging more often but that doesn't seem to be helping my torso as much as my shoulders.

Regarding tan lines, if the thong burn lines don't tan over I'm gonna be really annoyed! lol

Straw-Strings, it sounds like you are making progress! You could try stretching out on both your back and stomach on a beach towel at the beach, and sunbathe there! You could apply sunscreen (perhaps with your friend's help) to the areas already showing some tan before heading to the beach, leaving the areas which need "work" untreated until after some specific exposure at the beach (with a timer or watch). Then apply sunscreen to those areas and keep rockin' that thong! You'll be the "HOT Guy" soon (and I don't think your nickname will be "Lobster"!).
