Swim briefs at the beach

Post by Thongwearer »

If there are ever going to be more swim briefs or even thongs they need to be sold in stores at the beach.

The area in Sicily that I go to on holiday has a small souvenir shop that sells speedos. They are a stone's throw from the main beach and I make a point of checking to see they still have them on display each year I am there.

At US beaches they are very rare if at all offered. Only able to buy online will not help with the popularity factor.

When I was a kid beach stores used to sell them. And then sometime in the early 2000s that changed.

How close is the Skinzwear store in Clearwater, FL to the beach itself?

Skinzwear store is a bit of a drive from the beach. It definitely is not with in walking distance. I don’t remember how many miles, but I want to say more than 5 miles. It’s worth a stop at the store either on your way to or off the beach for the day.

Guitar T, what is your take on the level of welcome for microwear on Clearwater Beach, given that Skinzwear is headquartered in Clearwater?

I’ve never been to that beach but that’s great it’s even that close. I wish more stores at all beaches sold them. At our last beach trip I only saw one Swim Brief the whole time and no real stores sold them.

Even when I am doing laps I usually never see another swim brief. I recently discovered in the mornings our neighborhood pool is set up for laps. Trying to work up the courage to don the swim brief there for laps.

That's how I got started wearing swim briefs back in 2015. Prior to that I had been swimming laps in jammer which was ok, but I had a strong desire to wear a speedo to the pool. I finally worked up the courage to get one and since then I've never worn anything else in the water. Once you make the leap you will not want to go back to baggie shorts ever.

I only see a few men wearing briefs at the pools where I swim (YMCA and a municipal pool). At least there are a few out there. I was very encouraged to see one man with his family wearing a bikini brief a couple times. He was not even swimming laps, just there enjoying the pools.

I wear them at my gym pool consistently - never really wear anything else. Neighborhood pool is another story - trying to get the courage to do it.
