Are thongs more popular than we think?

Post by ThongBum »

What if thongs are far more popular than we think?

Ebay and Amazon sure seem to sell a lot of them, and there are plenty of reviews on Amazon. Sometimes 500-1000 for the more affordable options. So somebody is buying and wearing them.

I for one don’t broadcast what kind of underwear I wear, at least outside of this forum. Maybe a lot of other guys are quietly enjoying thongs like I am?

When you see the amount of underwear companies online who produce thongs and g-strings in multi colours, designs and materials, you have to believe they are doing so because they sell and are profitable. The fact that more guys are wearing skimpier styles on social media platforms also helps to promote them. As ThongBum states,we don't have to go around broadcasting what underwear we wear, but there are subtle ways of making it known such as hanging them out on the washing line next to shirts, socks etc. I'm sure my neighbours must think I've got The Chippendales staying when they see a row of g-strings swaying on my washing line.

I think they are, I do a lot of shopping on AliExpress, the Chinese wouldn’t make all the undies on that site if they didn’t sell!
I can’t tell you how many I’ve bought from this site, but it’s in the mid hundreds, thongs, G strings, underwear, swim thongs, bikinis, see through, cur away, mesh, everything. Obviously it’s not just me buying, there has to be heaps of guys buying.
It’s funny, because I was chatting to my Postie (postman) and she was complaining about all the online shopping she has to deliver.
So in answer to your question, I reckon heaps of guys buy online so they don’t get judged.

Being of a certain "age," your observation brings back fond memories of: "Order in the court, cause here come da judge!" :D The customers are purchasing what THEY want; THEY are doing the "judging!" The "sentence" they are "passing" on the "Gang of Big-Box Buffoons" is "So Long, Sukka!!!" :D Cha-Ching!

I'm not really sure that a large percentage of men wear thongs. Yes, there a lot of online companies selling them, but part of the answer to this maybe in your post. You say you've bought hundreds of pairs from AliExpress. You're not alone. Just from my time on this forum and looking at other underwear/swimwear forums I have concluded that us guys who like thongs and bikinis are prolific buyers of underwear. We often have collections numbering in the dozens or hundreds of pairs of underwear, much more than the average man who gives no thought to his underwear. Let's face it, we tend to be obsessive about our underwear and swimwear lol! So I think its more of a volume buying thing with men in this niche market. And we like to talk about our underwear hence the large amount of reviews on these seller sites.

I know this is just anecdotal, but I've spent a fair amount of time changing in locker rooms in recent years of swimming and I've never seen another man wearing much less than FTL briefs. Very few men even swim in speedos for laps in my area. But I live in a very conservative state (Alabama) so this is expected.

I figure it depends on the market/region. I'm in the US where thongs are still largely socially unacceptable for men to wear, though I'm hoping to help break the stigma lol. I'm under the impression that European and select other countries are more open-minded about it.

Then again, it's hard to know who else around me may be doing it but keeping it hidden!

Its not the norm for men to just go on about their choices much less on national TV. However theres heavy indication that lots of athletes, celebs, models, younger demographic even on behalf of the wife / gf all have picked up a liking to them. For professional reasons - cant be beat.

Also for . . . recreational. Though thats between all us in todays time.

Had a funny bit of convo with an old friend of mine who came to visit recently; somehow we got on the subject of thong underwear for men and women, and I noted that maybe men's thongs were gaining in popularity. She absolutely agreed with that, which surprised me just a bit. I'm pretty sure her husband is not the source of the info, but I trust her assessment given her greater knowledge of broader fashion trends than I am.

I imagine a lot of guys wear boxerbriefs during the day, but have one or two “special” pairs they put on for sexy time. Whether they receive them as a gift, or bought them out of curiosity would be interesting to know.
But the availability suggest they are very popular. If not necessarily for daily wear.
I have never seen another thong at my gym. Bikini briefs are certainly out there, though, while in the minority, of course.

I've had two underwear advertisements comes to my email this week, both with focus on their thong offerings. The first was AsWeMove with the subject "Break Through the stereotypes", don't be phased where what you fell like wearing. The email goes on wear something out of the ordinary, and it shows a model in their zero brief (thong), with I must say a very sculpted butt. The second was C-IN2, with the subject "Unleash the Bold with Thongs!". The email shows models in their thong offerings and one of the sentences says Elevate your confidence - i agree so much with that statement, I do feel more confident when I wear a thong. Maybe because I'm walking around with a little secret. I would say both of the brands are good quality and certainly worth a try.
