Normalize men thongs

Post by llama01 »

Hi everybody, I am new here :)
I am wearing thongs for more then 10years now and it started accidentally when I was asked by my exGf to do striptease for her. I bought a right equipment for that and found out that thongs can be really comfortable. But one thing still bothers me, why you need to be a stripper to not be considered wierd when you are wearing them as normal underwear? Not much changed in the last 10 years.
But I remember that around 2000-2003 one of the local swimwear brand offered thong cut version for all of their womens collection. Mens collection was smaller but still some thong options and they even advertised children thongs for girls 6+ (which will now be considered as sick). Now we are forced to swim in pants while women are almost naked.

It`s strange to me that for example Adidas has onepiece swimwear which looks like womens and not offer any thongs which in my eyes are much more "manly" (not even underwear).
There some other aspects like wearing some invisible underwear under white linen shorts. I have couple of HOM nude color gstring which can do that, anything else is just visible. And in Calvin Klein store I can choose from 200`s black trunks and or just 4 thongs, perfect :)

Something to think about, do you see any options what we as a thong wearers can do to normalize men thongs a little? When I see the sold items in chinese shops, it`s quite hard to believe that the men thongs are so marginal on the market. Bigger brands happily ignoring this trend, but I personally think, that if for example Calvin Klein starts some marketing campaign with men thongs, it will be a big success (by the way, their new 3pack modern cut thong is just superb). I saw some profiles on social media to propagate man thongs, but their reach looks to be very small. Thanks for this forum, It`s one of the ways to normalize thongs :)

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for contributing so quickly into your membership.Don’t think we’ve had many members who discovered the delights of thongs as a result of being asked to do a striptease by a partner. Hope she didn’t become your ex girlfriend because of your performance in said thong? Just kidding! Lol. Some bigger brands have introduced thongs to their range, but the recent one by Jockey was very safe and dare I say boring. The reviews from forum members were less than glowing.

TANGA TANGA: Thank you :)
She was surprised actually but liked it after all. Anyway I am not a talented dancer :-D
Jockey is more american brand right? Here in europe not really that known, but these looks quite nice :)
I think that men thongs are not visible enough. You hardly find some in stores in here and buy them online is the only option while stores like HM, C&A, Marks and Spencer, Tezenis, New Yorker, Primark.. etc not offer them even online. Calvin has just 4 or 5 in almost the same cut and color and not really advertise them.

You're welcome. Can I ask where in Europe you are? You mentioned C&A in your list which was a popular store here in Scotland for many years before they closed down. Are they still trading in parts of Europe? I have very happy memories of buying clothes from them which I still have in great condition in my wardrobe and drawers.Does the name Clockhouse ring a bell? They sold swim thongs back in the 80's which were on hangers in the middle of the store, rather than in a quiet corner. I bought two of the thongs which I believe were made in Italy, but for some unknown reason, I put them in a charity bag having never worn them. What was I thinking!!!. Hopefully some adventurous guy got a hold of them and couldn't believe his luck in finding sexy new swimwear. Look forward to reading about more of your experiences as you work your way through the many topics on here.

I am from Czech. C&A is quite popular in here :) but their underwear is pile of boring cotton black/white/grey/navy trunks, almost nothing else. Clockhouse is part of C&A I believe :)
Yes, I am looking around and reading other topics :)

Good to hear C&A are still trading outwith the UK. I don't remember buying any underwear from them, but the good thing about them was the longer leg lengths of their trousers(I'm 6'4")or 193cm. Clockhouse also had some great short sleeved shirts and stylish tight fitting t-shirts which are still quite eye catching even today.

I absolutely love love love mens thongs!!! I switched almost 3 years ago with the encouragement of my gf and I will never wear anything else and yes we need to normalize mens thong underwear because men are missing out on thee best support and thee best freedom of movement and they are visually appealing! I only wear thongs sleep in them work in them and never looked back and it's great to hear of other men that wear thongs too.

As far as us men that love thong underwear... I think we need to unite somehow and have an appropriate avenue of men wearing thong expression... like a safe gathering swim party or something video taped for social media and women involved as well... I think that's how we start to break the fear and stigma is unite... let's face it... thongs are comfortable and they are attractive for both men and women... tho is encourage men to care of their appearance groom well, work out, good hygiene and I believe women are also attracted to a well groomed man that has the worked out body and confidence to wear thongs... I dont think wearing thongs has anything very much to do of sexual identity per say... but sexuality aside no matter who a man or woman identifies as on the sexual identity level which doesn't matter!!! Its about underwear for men and confidence and women I believe would encourage this the most because women adopted this underwear and I believe they enjoy seeing men be comfortable and confident as well

The topic is an underwear garment. It has nothing to do with being heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual or transgender... it has to do with all people of any race and any sexual identity promoting and sharing how wonderful and comfortable thong underwear is for everyone and it needs to be celebrated and demonstrated in a safe nice way in unity.

The best way to normalize men’s thongs is to wear thongs, be seen wearing thongs and to act as if it’s just like any other piece of clothing. I wear a thong daily, at the gym/in locker room changing, at the beach where anyone can see, and under my suit for work daily. If some on ask, I say yes I am wearing a thong. At the beach I act the same as if I were wearing shorts.
