Your First Thong: When? What? Where?

Bought my first thong when I was buying new tanga briefs from British Home Stores in Harlow UK. I noticed them on hangers right next to the tangas. That was in 1993.it was a purple one with 3/4 " tanga style elastic waistband . BHS own brand. Although I had purchased tangas there many times over the years, I was a bit nervous when I went to pay for the thong and noticed a 40ish woman on the tills. the tangas were bagged up no problem. but as she pulled the thong off the hanger to bag it, I couldn't help noticing a wierd sort of grin on her face. but she never said anything to me. went back many times after once I realised that thongs were for me.
The funny part is that I kept seeing the cashier woman when I was out walking my dog. she must have lived somewhere in our estate. she always said hello and was polite.

That thong and its fabric felt comfortable but looked awful. My girlfriend of the time didn´t like what she saw. Few years ago I met a woman who worked for Black Horse when this product was new, she bought one for her husband. They both, open-minded, liked it.

Next one was a Solar Tan Thru swim thong, a step forward in looks.

Bought my first thong off Amazon it was a papi blue one, loved it right away after years of questioning why anyone would wear one I decided to give it a shot

I'm pretty sure my first thong was a Freddie by Hom, back in the early 80's in Cornwall in England.
I can remember it wasn't the most comfortable thong, but I loved it, I ended up with all their colours.
Now I'm hooked, I have over 100 thongs and G strings that I wear every day, for work and exercise. Now I live in Melbourne Australia, thongs make so much sense in the warmer climates.


They weren't very comfortable, were they? I had three or four anyway.....

Funny, last year I thought back to the Freddy thong and out of a bit of nostalgia bought a new pair, they’re still bloody uncomfortable, but I’ve still got them, I just don’t wear them very often, I’ve got many more comfortable thongs and G’s now

My first thong was bought from a Hudson’s department store (Macy’s took them over years ago). At that time I had been wearing the smallest bikini briefs I could find, the smaller the better. As I was looking through the underwear section I saw a package of these brightly colored thongs. I looked around to see if anyone would notice that I was looking at them. I could feel the nerves and excitement of possibly purchasing them. There was an attractive young woman working the register at the time and in my youth I froze. I didn’t have the nerve to buy the thongs with her working, but I tell you I really wanted them. I went home and continued to think about what I had found. It wasn’t long before I made my way back to the store with the determination to buy at least one package. I found my way back to the underwear section and found the thongs in the correct size. I knew then and there I was going to be a thong wearer, probably for life. Still my nerves were amped up as I made my way to the register. It probably took me 45 minutes to work up the courage to place the thongs on the counter in front of the same attractive young woman that I saw the previous visit. I must have looked like a jittery squirrel. She looked down at the thongs and smiled one of those sexy knowing smiles. She made some comment about the thongs being nice and sexy. She looked me over with the look of being undressed with a gleam in her eye. I made my purchase and went home as fast as I could. Immediately I tried on the new thong and instantly fell in love with the look and feel. Now I was in a bit of a quandary. Did I go back and buy more immediately or should I wait a couple weeks. I ended up waiting a couple weeks before returning to the store. This time I grabbed two packages of thongs and meekly made my way to the cashier. Again it was the same young woman. Of course she remembered me, making a comment about how I must have liked the thongs and how good I must have looked. She made some comment about not seeing many men buy thongs.
On my third visit I found new swimwear. And, lo and behold swim thongs were a part of the display. I remember being beyond excited to buy one and go to the beach, if I could work up the courage to do so. I bought the swim thong. Unfortunately it took me more than a year to wear it to the beach. But when I did I had the life changing experience that had me hooked on thongs for the rest of my days.

It was around 2008 so I was 18, and it was a royal blue Joe Boxer thong from K-Mart. Remember them? They used to have a bin full of random underwear for something like $1 a pair so I started experimenting with different styles.

Well one day I found a thong in the bin. I had never worn anything so skimpy before so I the prospect was really exciting. When I got home I pulled off my pants, stripped off my tighty whities and tried on the thong. It felt so strange not feeling fabric gripping my legs when sliding it up, as a brief does. And the feeling of the strap nestling in my crack was unlike anything I had ever felt. To say it was exciting is really an understatement. I was so uh, excited, that it didn’t want to stay in place very well!

So I’ve worn thongs off and on ever since, and switched over to thongs pretty much exclusively for the past few months. I have a collection of around 100 or so of all different brands and styles. I have a fair amount of briefs, bikinis, and trunks but those really never get worn anymore.

Ohhh that's a throwback... not only my first one but my first 8 also came from Joe Boxer 4-packs at K-Mart cause that was the only place I could find men's thongs in-person at a store. I got one in high school late 2000s and another in college in the early 2010s since I didn't really have the means to shop online yet. They aren't especially sexy or comfortable but I still have 4 of the 8, in large part for the nostalgia

Hi !! Well here is my story :
In greece, since 1996, thongs for men were getting more and more popular.there is a nice story about this, if you want i can write about.
So until 2001, you could found a thong, in every underwear store.and i am talking about stores in normal neighborhood, not only at big central stores.( after all, by that time there wasnt a mall or big store like walmart in athens, anyway.the first mall, opened his doors years later 2005-6 ).
Soo...i lived in a middle class neighborhood, was 2001, and i went to a small underwear store to buy new undies.
Until then, i already know about thongs, but still i preferred tiny briefs or cute desighed boxer briefs.
In the showcase of the store you could see multible examples of men and women underwear, thongs included.
I step in and inside was the female owner with her husband. Gorgeous lady in her 30s, black long hair, perfect meditteranean body.her husband was the " classic " greek guy.dark skin, black hair, very decent body.
I was in my early 20s and so i asked for tiny briefs.
The woman, said " briefs ? ...well i have a better proposal for you.here take a look at these. They are in fashion now, and i truly recommend for you. You are a young man..you have to be sporty and modern "
By saying that she show me a number of thongs. Her husband at that time didnt participate, but made a node, like trust her she is right.
It didnt took long for me to choose a orange lycra tiny thong.
This was my first one.
I went home, tried it for 2-3 times, show it to my roomate, had a whaletail accident ( i can write about if you want ).
A week after, i visited again the same store.the female owner and husband were there. At this time, this happened.
I step in, and there was a lady customer.i said hi to everyone, and looking straight in the eye the female owner i said " i liked it". She replied " i knew it, they are the best !". Without named the type of underwear we talked about, she continued to serve the lady customer.
I had a small talk with her husband. He said " you have to trust Beatrice, her recomentations are always the best, especially about underwear" i agreed and jokely i asked " do you follow her advises? " he laughed... " always... ".
So we had a short chat with him.the customer left and Beatrice came to me. " i want a new one" i said.
While she moved to the shelve,her husband said " may i propose something for you ?" .." you are welcome to do " i replied..
" i recommend this..." and show me a the package of a simple cotton punto blanco.black with red stripes, narrow sides, and a small triangle.
" i wear this one right now and i have to say its very comfortable"
Beatrice said.." i agree, you will be pleased.."..
So..this punto blanco was my second and many followed.
For the history : the next years, i continue to visit this store and bying new thongs. I became friends with beatrice and her husband and always bying thongs was a nice experience, with a lot of talking and laughing, and good vibes.
The store closed 4 years a go.the buiding owner demolished it and beatrice opened a new store in another town.

Thank you microbikiniman...well the whole experience was soo intence that i remember every detail as it was yesterday.
In greece we are open to talk to each other, even tell personal stories/ thoughts, but in a specific enviroment.
What i mean ? I will explain.
With beatrice and her husband this enviroment was their store.we could talk, laugh, exchange stories/ advises, have really good time..anything.but strictly in their store.outside of the store, no communication.
So, for the years the store was open, we did have a perfect communication.after it closed, we lost contact.
I knew that beatrice opened a new store in another town, because she told me, before the demolition.
But now where it is, or if its still open..i dont know.
The only thing which i am sure about, is that if she is still running a underwear store...a lot of people ( male and female) would have tried thongs...
